SPURS SAVAGED BY THE WOLVES AHEAD OF CITY CLASH!

Sat Dec 29, 2018 5:07 pm

Tottenham 1 - Wolverhampton Wanderers 3

Tottenham's Premier League title hopes suffered an unexpected setback as Wolves scored three times in the last 18 minutes to come from behind and win at Wembley.

Spurs, who would have moved three points behind leaders Liverpool with a win, looked to be heading for victory after Harry Kane's spectacular first-half strike.

The Spurs captain fired a powerful left-footed strike across goalkeeper Rui Patricio and into the far corner from 25 yards.

But the hosts became sloppy after half-time and Wolves built momentum, equalising in the 72nd when Willy Boly powered in a header following a corner.

Raul Jimenez's weak effort from the edge of the area beat Hugo Lloris to put Wolves in front before Helder Costa added a third on the counter-attack three minutes from time.

Spurs remain second in the table but leaders Liverpool could go nine points clear as they face Arsenal at 17:30 GMT.

Not sure if this is a good or a bad thing for us. Find out soon enough I suppose.

Makes no difference wolves won’t be in a relegation scrap with us.

Spurs actually better away from home this season..but with a 4 point haul from two tough away games ourselves, we have nothing to fear from this fixture and are (sort of) in a no lose situation before we move on to Huddersfield at home in the Premier League on Saturday12th January 2018

FA Cup 3rd Round is a 'nice to win' but not the priority and surely a rest for those who have played so much is the over of the day once the Spurs game is over? :?
