Ticketing for Man U

Wed Dec 26, 2018 10:16 am

My son and I are plus 5 ticket holders. (Have been traveling over to see Cardiff since 1970)
You never know where you will sit until you book your ticket (unlike season ticket holders) which has worked ok. The reason for the post is to question how so many Man U fans were able to buy tickets in the Cardiff seating? We were surrounded by them in the top tier. And yet there were many Cardiff fans asking for tickets on here!

Did that make any difference? If all tickets went on general sale probably have more utd fans who live around cdf in ground . Not to sure st holders contributed to utd fans in city ends as you hope they went to city fans.?

yes it did as they did not have a window for flexi 5, flexi5 plus and members..
im not saying it would have stopped United fans all together but would certainly have reduced the number..
I know flexi 5 and members that missed out..

Yeah there should of been a window im a member but missed out said from the start it was pathetic from the club. I forgot about it the day they went on sale.

If they don’t do something it will happen at the Liverpool game as well. I’m sure they don’t want another fan going head first over the rails but if that does happen again the club is partly to blame for being stupid enough to let this happen.

Im agree with you; the club really need to get a grip on 'big game' ticket sales and reward the regulars :thumbright:

Sadly, if we thought ManUre were bad, wait for the Scousers to come into town. As we found out in the League Cup Final, they are as cunning as a cunning fox's more cunning cousin when it comes to scamming tickets...

Stewards going to have to work hard that day...

And for those who mistakenly think "fans should mix", I suggest you do your research on football rather than comparing it to other sports. Sadly, the two simply don't mix and the club(s) have an absolute 'Duty of Care' even to the idiots (some would call trespassers) who would infiltrate the opposition compounds! :(

I must be missing something here? I'm responding to gaffer who says the reason for utd in our end was st holders giving them the tickets from the extra 2 they were allowed! With best will in world far more likely to have utd fans in our end if went on general sale, you would hope city st holders have more sense than to give utd fans a ticket in home end. :old:

Lots of flex5 and members who are real city fans never got the chance to buy tickets because many season ticket holders bought two extra tickets for there mates who only want to watch the game because there Man Utd fans.
I wouldn’t mind betting lots of the newer season ticket holders bought there extra two tickets to try and make a few quid as well.
Those are facts because there is absolutely no other possible explanation why Man Utd fans where in the home end.
There is also absolutely no reason why a season ticket holder would need two extra tickets to go watch any game.

It's the system then that's at fault ! But why would anyone want to go in with fans of an opponent? Especially utd or pool fans, They are asking for trouble regardless of wether it's 1980 or 2018 it's a stupid thing to do and sorry whilst don't condone aggression the people going in citys end asked and got aggro that's football culture like it or not!

It’s the system and the fans exploiting the system. The people coming into the home end aren’t real fans that’s the problem they probably go to one game every 5 years any real fan would no that going in the away end is a no go and celebrating goals when your team is handing out a thumping is very very very dumb.

as mentioned in another thread i missed out too as a flexi plus member because of the stupid idea from the club to award 2 extra tickets to season ticket holders/ flexi ticket holders ( if you could get through on morning of sale )

to me it's s simple one to stop and not to give out extra tickets to season ticket holders for top 6 sides if we are in the prem next season

there should be 1 day only where flexi and flexiplus and memberships should be allowed a ticket to a top 6 fixture before going on general sale

a much fairer system .a lot less johnny come lately plastic fans to contend with in the home stands and the stewards will have alot less work to do too !

The lads birthday is the weekend before Liverpool so obvs he wants that for his big pressie.

I explained to SWMBO that the only guarantee was a half season ticket as we'd missed other matches despite being members - due to falling of payday etc.

I managed to use Christmas as the final OK justification. So they were procured.

As it turns out we'll only miss 2 matches as we're away on hols for a week at the end of Feb, plus doing 7 fell right for the Zeelo bus thing plus adding 1 on.

She's even agreed we can do an away or two so I need to look into that!!

As for the extra ticket thing- I'd only ever offer my old man (70) and grandfather (96) the option. They've both been City forever even if they can't get down there due to health/mobility.

I'm disgusted with my nephew for holding a season ticket as he is out and out MU - has been since he was a toddler. Only ST to see them - gives it the I'm a Cardiff fan bollocks yet has only been to one or two including MU. Offered him a lift before doing the Zeelo thing and he fucked up and said he probably wouldn't bother unless it was Liverpool.

I think lots of kids like him might be gaming the ticket thing along with some dubious general Prem followers.
