MY THOUGHTS: OUR FIGHT IS AT THE BOTTOM, NOT THE TOP

Sun Dec 23, 2018 10:54 am

Manchester United breezed passed a Cardiff City team who had a poor game, anf after a diabolical referee in the 1st half I think it's safe to say that the quicker we move on from this poor result the better.

This fixture saw the return of former Cardiff manager Ole Gunner Solskaer at the Cardiff City Stadium, after his poor reign at the club sending the Bluebirds back to the Championship.

So let's reflect on this huge game for both teams.

MY THOUGHTS: CARDIFF 1-5 MANCHESTER UNITED
I thought that the game was over when the first goal went in at the early stages of the 1st half, but as soon as the whistle went to start the game the bluebirds started well but of course that could only go so far especially with every decision given to the red devils. The referee is supposed to be a professional not giving every foul to Man Utd just because they are bigger than Cardiff. But let's not just blame the referee because it was a countless of errors from our team.

Morrison and Bamba were poor but let's not escape the fact that Cardiff played a team with countless of trophies, international and of course Premier League as well. So I really don't want to be hugely critical because on paper it looked like an enormous task for our beloved Cardiff. So yeah everyone looked like they were trying but let's be fair Man United did not have to break a sweat. I still stand by what a always said and that is that the players are more clever than the manager and the Man UTD players knew what they were doing all along, and it was down to Pogba potentially telling other players to perform bad so they can get rid of Jose. Despite experts being divided on this situation I still stand by what i say.

Problem is other teams around us may take points off top 7 team and that could make all the difference? Wolves have lost only twice to top 7 teams so take away the points they've gained against such teams and they would be lot lower down than present. So it is important same as goal difference ffs something like 20 goals conceded against top team's just half that and be worth extra point or 2 to us, So yes these games are important

We aren’t in competition with Wolves

No but point is they have taken points off top 7 clubs so are in healthier position than would be if lost them all like us palace certainly could be our competition and they managed to win against man c . Anyway points taken from top team's could be matter of staying up or going down at end day or are we going to win all our away games against our competition to stay up? Because that's what it could need to do so. :old:

Palace are a lot better than us in reality when Zaha plays.

Our competition is Fulham, Huddersfield and Burnley I think. Which is why that loss to Burnley hurts so much.

Palace and Southampton always had a bit of quality as established Prem clubs. Arguably Burnley are established. Newcastle and Brighton could still get dragged in but probably got too much.

That's the problem you're illiminating top 7 plus another 4 that's 11 teams not in relegation fight only leaves 9 counting us if won all games against rivals get to about 44pnts as that wont happen we need to get points off top 10 team's can you see us doing that? We need realistically 36pnts cannot see us getting that many :o

No I think that the bottom four are so bad that all of us are unlikely to get points v the top 6.

The rest can easily take points off each other as proven with Palace and Southampton lately.

I will predict we will not get a point vs any of the following;
Liverpool
Man City
Spurs
Chelsea
Arsenal
Man Utd

Arguably the weakest of those 6 is Arsenal who we lost to despite playing well but they were playing well within themselves.

My only grace is that Fulham, Huddersfield and Burnley will pick up barely anything either.

Won't argue about that it could be record low points total for safety way things are going! My concern is the away form as we play several of rivals away as well as most top 6 our goal difference could take a hammering. :(
