Was great to see a full house tonight was rocking in the canton, great atmosphere and fans were great throughout the game even when we were way behind.

Yes think we did but citys accounts were suspect at best when came to crowds? Palace was in excess of 32k but clubs abercus ran out of beads! :laughing6: The reference is for league games though

I loved the song at the end,
We’re 4-1 down,
Who gives a f..k,
We’re Cardiff City and
We’re staying up.
And then it changed to 5-1 and the singing carried on. Brilliant. My father in law who came to the game, because my son was working, thought it was fantastic.

This is correct :thumbright:

We had a few amazing attendances that season and a good FA Cup run (all at home) where we bear Spurs 1-0 (attendance 27,868) with THAT Peter Sayer goal! :notworthy:

We then went on to beat Wrexham 3-2 (attendance 28,953) in an incredibly tense game, where city we 2-0 up only to see us pegged back by a (then) decent Wrexham side before genuine City legend John Buchanan hit one of his thunderbolts in injury time to win the tie! :D

City then went on to play Everton (attendance 35,582) losing 2-1 thanks to Duncan McKenzie, Bob Latchford and a team that contained a certain David Jones

League-wise, City finished a lowly 18th in Division 2 (now Championship) that contained the likes of Chelsea (a crazy time at Ninian Park), Millwall and probably surprising to many, Hereford United (attendance

We also went out of the European Cup Winners Cup (qualified then via the old Welsh Cup) 1-3 on aggregate over two legs (1-0 win at home) to Dynamo Tbilisi

My memories of that cup run,

City beating Spurs 1-0 , I am sure it kicked off outside grange end gates after game ? Peter Sayer goal used to feature in opening credits on MOTD after that game !

Buchanan placing the ball into the corner of the Grange End goal to win the game 3-2 and not a trademark thunderbolt shot after City chucked away 2-0 lead ?

TV camera strike for Everton game , Everton fans were put in a section of Bob Bank ? I am sure there was some clashes ? Tony Evans scored 1st goal , Latchford equalised then a controversial goal by Duncan McKenzie, think he catches Albert Labour heel as he goes to pass back causing him to mishit the ball and McKenzie went on a mazy run and scoring !

Great run though generating much needed cash :bluescarf:

My apologies, I mistook it for his late equalising goal in the 3-3 Swansea game (Christmas 1980) and to be fair, it was a few games ago! :thumbright: :laughing6:

I note you set up the opener for Gary Stevens with a nice little cross! ;) :ayatollah:

I love the way the Jacks were inviting him to hit it thinking he can’t score from that far out

The real Billy was a fine player ! :notworthy:
