Beginning to look grim.

As ever, a 5 -1 home defeat will choke out any Xmas cheer, even if we suspected that the impact of regime change would ensure that. The reality is that apart from a good performance against Southampton, we are beginning to sink. Our defence must give real cause for concern. If form provides a picture, then we should be alarmed at how we are beginning to drift. The nightmare is worsened when we see teams like Southampton winning against Arsenal. So, we come back to investment. Not enough is the problem. To go in to this league with no recognisable striker of pedigree, is costing us dear. And Palace ? Away ? After their win today ? We will have a real scrap to get something there. It is easy to be down in the mouth and depressed, but the longer term decline is now biting fast. I fear for the transfer budget Neil will have ? He has already mentioned that he is unlikely to get his main targets. Today has to be a turning point. Our away form is absolutely dire. We cannot afford the failure of home form too. Not a good day and no head banging on my kitchen wall while my lad watches Nativity Two, but it is looking a bit grim as they say up North.

Even happy clappy Vince Alm must be drowning his sorrows, after that surrender.
