I do think Solskjær gets too much stick

His signings weren't bad so I cant say he wasted as much money as people say. He spent 23m in the chamionship season on players that included Morrisson, Manga, Pilkington & in the premier league brought in players like Fabio & Kenwyne Jones.

Yes, I've missed out about 10 flops that he brought in, but a couple of them are good players and thriving right now such as Burgs-taller & Zaha.

My point is his signings were good for the club. The only thing that let us down was how many players the board let him sign, and we've discussed that part of it over and over and we've admitted alot of blame is down to Tan and the rest of Cardiff City as a club.

Yeah it didn't work out for him, he never settled on a team and often made atleast 3 changes from game to game, but I don't think anyone here at the time disliked him in any way. He was just losing games, simple as that.

I really liked him to be honest, even at Cardiff I thought it was an exciting appointment, even if it may not have made sense at the time. There's no doubt that his signings left us crippled in the market - hense the embargo we had when Slade took over -, but again he can't be responsible for the situation our club was in, he just spent what was given to him and without promotion would we have flourished as a championship club properly having spent so much money? No. Everyone knows the championship is one of the hardest leagues to get out of, and chucking 20m doesn't always guarentee you promotion.

I think solskjaer definitely tried his best, and clearly was devestated with the situation he left us in. But I have no hard feelings toward him. He's part of our history and like I previously said he brought in the likes of Bruno and our current captain Sean Morrison. So we can take that from it at the very least. Yeah you're not going to get 23m back from Morrisson & Manga alone lol, but to be fair their market value must've shot up by now thanks to Warnock...

..Anyway I'm going off topic. I just hope we welcome HIM (not manchester) back and ask him to Ayatollah etc. I would hate us to give him a bad reception. But, having said that, let's support City more than ever tomorrow because we definetely need it. For all the "top teams" we've faced, this surely has to be the most likely fixture to get points from. Let's show Solsjkaer how together the club is now and show him what we think of Warnock too!

I don't mind us bashing Ole and making fun of United etc, but let's show him a bit of respect too.

Totally agree,I liked him as a player and person it was hard all around for him when he came in with the way the club was going and was always going to be hard for him trying to keep us in the premier league ....we need to show fan we dont care and are better than booing him lets try and give us a good name in this league we get enough bashing from all media !!

Can't see him being asked to do the ayattolla but doubt he'll get much stick. I think he was out of his depth but not helped by everything else going on at the time.

I think some of the contracts handed out under solskjaer caused us major financial problems

"The only thing that let us down was how many players the board let him sign, and we've discussed that part of it over and over and we've admitted alot of blame is down to Tan and the rest of Cardiff City as a club."

Really

Nothing to do with his inept, youth team tactics with no thought given to the opposition leading to dismal hammerings by Swansea, Sunderland, Hull, West Ham, Crystal Palace etc. ? All on the back of having money to spend that Warnock can only dream about even without allowing for inflated prices since then !!

Let's not re-write history here. His team selections bordered on bizarre and he was completely inept apart from signing Morrison and Manga.

Even the Morrison signing took 18 months to come good because he got rid of Hudson and ripped out a major dressing room influence when Hudson, at the time, was clearly the better centre half (Morrison is now probably a better player but wasn't at that time).

OGS will get no respect from me because he simply doesn't warrant it. No doubt his stars will pull their fingers out against us tomorrow and will give him a good start, but after that Man Utd fans can only hope that Mike Phelan has a loud voice in that dressing room !!

How on earth do you figure out that Ole gets too much stick? We've rarely plummeted so far under any manager ever, especially with the resources available.

The only good thing you can say about him is he was so bad we HAD to go back to Blue.

Morrison - USELESS in the "style of football" Ole supposedly wanted to play.

Manga - a class act but needed a manager to tell him where his ability reached its' peak (like Bamba). Made horrendous defensive errors under Solskjaer.

Pilkington - mid-table Champ at best.

Fabio - not a defender for British football.

K.Jones - the Laziest footballer to ever wear a Cardiff shirt and the only player I've ever refused to clap when scoring a goal. Not a team player

I always felt like we were 2 or 3 games away from clicking with Ole.

The trouble was it was always 2 or 3 games away

I liked him at the time and I do feel he should have been given another couple of months seeing as we wrote off that season anyway in the end by appointing Slade.

Solskjaer gets too much stick ??? - Who has been talking about him in the last 3 years ???

Some on here have a pop at Dave Jones : MM : Slade to name a few of late, but i have more respect for them than that Clueless Clown = OGS .

I remember the days of Andrews and Ashurst  and fans fav on here May and Burrows :bluebird:

So please - You talk of a manager who was left in 17th place out of the relegation zone at the time - with money to spend .
Then gets us back down to the championship and jumps ship !!!.....Leaves his mess for RS to sort out !!!

What a hero this guy is to you

Slade steadied the ship, Solskjaer could very well have taken us to league 1.

Ole the donkey will get no respect or boos of me tomorrow.
