MY VIEW / OPINION

CARDIFF SHOWED REAL CHARACTER TONIGHT TO COME BACK FROM ONE NIL DOWN AGAINST A QUALITY WOLVES TEAM TO BEAT THEM TWO-ONE :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird:

Neil Warnock celebrates his 70th birthday with a valuable three points against last seasons Championship Champions :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Very very valuable 3pts :bluebird: :bluebird:

Aron Gunnarsson & Junior Hoilett tonights heroes :thumbright: :bluebird:

Cardiff showed desire/passion and never say die to win tonights Premier League Game :bluebird: :bluebird:

First-half was Wolves, Second-half was Cardiff's :bluebird:

First-half:In some ways it was really poor from the Bluebirds, with lots of missed passes and not much of a plan other than to stroke the ball into the channels. In other ways it was promising because of those near-misses.

City did hit the post.

Wolves looked comfortable competing for those second balls and have the quality with the likes of Neves and Traore to bring the ball away in a composed manner, setting up attacks.

CARDIFF CITY 2 WOLVES 1 :bluebird: :bluebird:
Etheridge; Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Ralls; Gunnarsson, Arter, Camarasa; Murphy, Hoilett, Paterson

Subs: Smithies, Peltier, Bennett, Ward, Decordova-Reid, Mendez-Laing, Harris

Crowd 30,230 :bluebird:
Away Support 2,996 Wolves fans

Cardiff started brightly and looked very lively for the first 15mins

18th min Matt Doherty scored for Wolves.

There was dreadful defending from the corner allowing Jiminez to get a shot away that, in fairness, was well saved by Etheridge, but the rebound was pounced upon by Doherty, who shook off Gunnarsson far too easily to pounce and fire home from close range at the far post. 0-1

That was the seventh goal Cardiff have conceded from a set-piece this season.

Wolves Adama Traore was a massive threat to Cardiff, charging straight at Sean Morrison and many times beating Morrison and the Cardiff defence.

Harry After hit the post in the 38th min.

Over all Wolves were the better team and City's passing was not good.

H/T 0-1

It’s been a solid start from City in this second half.

It was a solid start from City in the second half.

65th Min, Gunnersson put ardiff on level terms, with a close range shot 1-1 :thumbright: :bluebird:

Now it was all Cardiff City :bluebird:

68th min Reid was on for Josh Murphy.

78th min a wonderful strike from Junior Hoilett to make it 2-1 and well deserved :bluebird: :bluebird:

F/T 2-1 :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

It was sweet revenge for Warnock over opposite number Nuno Espirito Santo, with whom he had rowed following Wolves' 1-0 win at the same ground in an April promotion showdown.

A fantastic win.

Carragher and Gary Neville agreed on Sky Sports that we deserved it.

What a goal by Junior Hoilett :ayatollah:

Couldn't watch the last 5 mins. It's easier in the stadium than on telly. Was singing away in my front room! Nervous!

Great win. All pundits very complimentary about our style, the players, manager, goals we scored, best team, and most especially THE ATMOSPHERE! Amazing lads. So jealous I couldn't be there tonight!

Warnock's interview with Gary and Jamie. Excellent telly. Then I'm sure Ken Choo brings him a birthday cake!

Best quote though ... "I'm surprised Gunnars hit the net from there"

I'll try get a link for it.

Was always going to be difficult adjusting to this league, but we are starting to look more competitive game by game. We were not overrun at Everton and deserved the win tonight. Only objective is to stay in this league, and although there will be more downs than ups, we are on track at the minute. Hopefully the would be managers on here will be satisfied for a few days and not suggest that Warnock should go, not this week anyway.

As soon as we scored the 2nd I immediately switched off, fully knowing what we are like and my genwral inability to cope in stress situations.

My usual coping mechanism is to neck beer/water/gin and force myself to piss every 2 mins! Thinking behind it is only good things happen when I go to the bog.

Thought we were so poor first half, lucky to keep it at 1-0. I don't think the formation suited us and really thought Warnock got it way wrong. Seemed to change in the second half and great attitude from the lads.

We deserved the win.

Tremendous character and determination from the lads tonight and a wonder strike from Junior! A real bonus for us is that 6 of the bottom 10 sides play each other tomorrow and Southampton have a tough game against Man U. There will be some points dropped so tonight's win could prove crucial. :bluescarf:

Great result and deserved it in the end.I thought most of our players seemed to have a lot of errors in them tonite, but they all battled to the end and played for the badge.
This win could do wonders for us so let’s have a go at West Ham,nothing to lose.

Couldn't make it tonight so watched it on TV.

IMO they scored against the run of play, if we are looking for a scapegoat their goal was down to Gunners losing his man. I felt they were working really hard to close us down, which they did, but I hoped and prayed they couldn't do that for 90 minutes.

2nd half we went at them. Thoroughly deserved our victory, with the icing on the cake being Junior's wonderstrike. Junior was non existant 1st half, immense the 2nd.

Well done City......we will never surrender! 3 wins from losing positions.....tells it all about our fighting spirit. :bluebird:

Literally a game of two halves but a superb result and a deserved win for Cardiff City!

The first half was a little flat and (Arter's chances apart) we seemed to huff and puff without blowing any houses down. Wolves, despite some pretty slick passing (why do other teams always seem to get the ball to their own players more than us? :? ) were no major threat until their goal and might have sneaked a second before half-time

Second half was completely different and City came out with increased tempo and force Wolves back into what looked like the very uncomfortable zone!

The excellent equaliser from Gunnar was well deserved and the 'worldy' from Junior Hoilett (the more I watch it, the better it gets) was worthy of winning any game in any game in any League! :notworthy:

Going a little against what was said elsewhere, I thought our supporters were very quiet again tonight until the equaliser but after that they were immense and it made for an incredible atmosphere to the end of the game. Others (maybe those watching on TV at home) may say different but I can only comment on what I heard (or didn't) from my position in 116/117

At the game end, the septuagenarian birthday boy was visibly pleased with the result and his players seemed equally pleased to have provided it for him!

This was a superb result for Cardiff City FC and the 'togetherness' of the squad showed and that is what we have in spades probably more than any of those teams around us; all thanks to that one man...Neil Warnock!

Penblwydd Hapus, Neil Warnock; a Cardiff City legend and not done yet! :notworthy: :ayatollah: :occasion4: :occasion6:
