Adverts - Annis do us a favour ?

Lately every topic you go on an advert pops up and f**k me is it annoying !!

I may not be a prolific poster however I come on here every day to read up on everything Cardiff City, I have been reading the board for a good few years now (although only a member for the last 5 seasons) however these pop up adverts are spoiling the experience, for me anyway.

I know it’s possibly a way of you earning so the board self funds itself Annis but if many others are getting annoyed with the adverts like me it could have an adverse effect in the long run ?

Do me a favour and go back to no more pop up adverts on every topic, and if you need the revenue to maintain board surely there are other ways ?

Anyone else think the same ?

Certain ads are annoying, especially when you’re scrolling trough General Chat and the ads load and move all the titles half way down the page.... I’ve also seen ads on here for Man City tops, Everton club store and Chelsea......

That one has caught me out a few times when voting for the MOM.

On my phone I hardly see an advert, on the laptop I do.
The adverts pay for the engine if the site so that no matter how many come on here it never closses down

Just read again what you are on about the pop up ones, they don’t cone up for me as I pressed the x on them

Certain ads are annoying, especially when you’re scrolling trough General Chat and the ads load and move all the titles half way down the page.... I’ve also seen ads on here for Man City tops, Everton club store and Chelsea......

The adverts are usually related to what you or others have recently looked at

Hi Annis, I use an iPad for most things especially this site, and the adverts pop up now on every single topic where as they never before, and yes I do click the X

I don't mind the averts except the ones that pop up at the bottom of the page, just means I can't go on it in work anymore which is a shame.

I use the forum on a desktop PC with Adblocker built into Chrome in and never see a single ad

Adverts are annoying here or anywhere else. I often think they're probably counter productive actually because from my point of view the more you bother me or wind me up pressing home your PC politics as a side issue the less likely I am to buy your crappy product .
Having said this, let's not forget that everyone here is getting a great entertainment service for free, so unless anyone would prefer to pay a subscription they can't complain too much. To be honest if I were doing it ,( and I wouldn't be because it's a lot of buggering about), I'd probably put a few more bells and whistles on it, but I'd also be trying to commercialise it a lot more too.
Those who run this do a very good job and provide people with an outlet for their views and a window on other views and news , all of which takes time and effort so I should say that adverts are worth putting up with to enable this.

Cheers the engine is very expensive to run.


We do try to keep up on all the info and let everyone contribute

I get the adverts but it doesn't affect my viewing of the site tbh, I just click the x and they go, not sure about relating to what you view mind as iv had Muslim dating on here in the past lol

Totally agree with the above, but it was annoying as I had not encountered the annoying pop ups before at the foot of the page on every thread. Ad blocker on now so much better.

And as mentioned I agree it’s a great source for everything ccfc, and they do a very good job running the site also.

Download AdBlocker, its free and will stop all ads coming in.

While it can be annoying when voting for the wrong person in the MOM poll I understand that the website has to be paid for somehow and if a few ads popping up does that then I can put up with them. I'm sure most of us have no idea what it takes to fund & run these things and would probably be shocked if we knew.

yeah it's extremely annoying, i dont mind ads so much cos they keep websites like this running but there's no need for them to take up half the page when you're trying to read something

Wouldn’t want a man shitty top full stop, I know cookies play a lot and I’ve seen of Facebook Man City come up a few times which is odd when pages I’ve liked are Cardiff and Man Utd, Chelsea I can understand too as my father-in-law is a Chelsea fan and he tags me in a few things, mainly taking the piss out of Utd

I don't find them too bad tbh...and bought a Wales away top off JD sports this week for 36 quid in the black Friday thing due to seeing an ad here..
