VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

Sun Nov 25, 2018 10:15 pm

VINCE ALM:

Cardiff City Supporters Club :

On the way back from Everton yesterday we had grown men fighting on a coach in front of young kids and families who were terrified by the trouble. The steward of the coach had to use physical force in the end to brake the fighting men up and took some blows himself. Several seats were damaged during the fight with the fighting parties split up onto different coaches as the main perpetrator refused to get off the coach.

My Apologies but a bit of a rant caused by behaviour issues from supporters travelling on supporter’s club coaches this season. With West Ham on the horizon and a lot fewer independent coaches providing transport, some of you may be thinking of using the supporter’s coaches for transport to the game? You will be welcome but please read below before booking, and those supporters who maybe thinking in the future when we are the last resort as your normal coach is full please also read.

We are the official supporters club and endorsed by the football club as a safe way for supporters to travel back and forth away games. We abide by the law of the land and the traffic commissioner regulations for travelling by coach to a football match.
We run a membership scheme with benefits including cheaper travel, however we will provide transport for any supporter, but they pay the full travel price with no membership privileges. All we ask is for you to abide by our code of conduct for example: -
Alcohol is against the law to be consumed on a coach going to and from a football match and can carry a fine to the coach company and the driver. We enforce these regulations and laws so alcohol, drugs etc are not permitted on any supporter’s coaches that includes consumption and possession on the coach.

I enjoy a drink myself and do not have a problem with supporters having a pint etc when watching the City play it is a social event after all. Personally, I very rarely drink at football matches on the day of the game due to the responsibilities I have volunteered to carry out regarding assisting supporters. I need to keep a cool head and stay rational to help diffuse situations supporters may find themselves in.

This season we have had a lot more supporters travelling with us an average of 500 per away game choosing to come on the supporter’s coaches which is fantastic. However there has been an increase in incidents all alcohol related which if it carries on, we will have to review our open policy that may make it harder for supporters to travel with us.

At one point some of the kids as young as 15 were threatened by this adult which is a disgrace.

We enforce a safe guarding policy for children under 16 although we will not allow children under 14 to travel on their own, but they must get their parents to sign the policy before we allow them to travel. It also gives the parents reassurance that whilst on the coaches we will provide a safe environment for their children to travel.

We also caught supporters bringing alcohol on the coach and consuming alcohol on the coach even though they have been warned prior to booking with us. We had to leave supporters in Liverpool after the game because they were to drunk to get on the coach, we had one so drunk he didn’t know where he was and his coach left without him at 5.40 after forcing 48 fellow supporters to sit on Priory Lane while he tried to find the coach. We have had drink related incidents all season including abusive behaviour, bullying, and coach damage.

Supporters travel with us because they do not want to get hammered every game, they like being in a safe environment that is why they bring their children on our coaches, we have OAPs, females, and families that travel with us. Their priority is to go and watch a football match they may have a couple of drinks before the game, but they don’t get smashed off their face.
So, if your intention is to:

Get hammered every game! Please do not book on our coaches

If it is to get drunk and have Dutch courage to think you’re the hardest man in the world! Please do not travel on our buses

Constantly use foul and abusive language and bully fellow supporters! Please do not travel with us

Damage and mess up the coaches! Please do not travel with us

Poor behaviour, bullying, fighting, abusive behaviour, will not be tolerated on our coaches you will be banned and any poor behaviour reported to the football club that threatens other supporters safety.
All we ask is you respect your fellow supporters, our code of conduct, and the coaches. You will be more than welcome to travel with us then.

End of rant we are now taking bookings for West Ham Watford, and Crystal Palace
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

For me this is appalling what Vince has said.

I was on the coach mentioned. It was a father and son from newport fighting believe it or not. Black eyes bloody noses the lot. Unbelievable that a father could do that to his own son!!!! I along with 1 or 2 others had to step in and help to stop the fight ending up down by the coach driver and causing a crash...it really was that bad. There were a lot of young boys and girls that got caught in the middle of it and they were genuinely scared.

Those asking for both fans to be banned need a slap, you don't know the full story so shut it, I witnessed it all, was not a good ending to the night at all

Neil, what's funny about it? :?

No matter what the cause, this is a serious issue and I'm told it could have escalated to become far bigger!

Doesn't matter if it's 'egg' or 'soccer', the condemnation of such incidents is deserved

There are quite a few supporters nowadays who feel 'entitled' and (sadly for me) many of those are of a certain age where you feel they might have grown up a little and be setting good examples to others, but they haven't

Vince and his (on the whole excellent) team need support and others should remember that the consequences of what occurred could be far reaching and effect the whole travelling support

We've been there before and most (reasonable) supporters would prefer not to go there again! :(

Well said Chris,

A few posters need to grow up, times have changed drastically and football today is more families than ever.

I don’t see how it’s funny.

Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:58 pm

Needs to be banned, not on at all.
This is a different era now with families going on the coaches.
Not to be expected on these coaches.
I hope the supporters rep was okay

Re: VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

Mon Nov 26, 2018 12:59 pm

It's not a case of people asking for those involved to be banned....they already are banned from the ccsc coaches after that display.

Re: VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:02 pm

Besides...I don't think anyone wants them banned from games, just banned from travelling with ccsc coaches to avoid a repeat, after all they are family friendly and they over stepped the mark

Re: VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

By all accounts from my mate who was on said coach the Father hit his son with a Stone Cold Stunner then turned around and flipped the bird to a woman caught up in all the ruckness all whilst screaming “Can I get a hell yeah”

Vince “McMahon” Alm was said to be calling all sorts of officials to come break it up, the son managed to get a few shots in and hit his father with a spear through the seats.

If only the above was true that would been a better and more funnier outcome than what actually happened

Re: VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

Mon Nov 26, 2018 1:03 pm

What people need to remember is organising and arranging coaches, tickets etc for away days is stressful and time consuming and people like Vince are doing this out of their own time and money! More instances like this and people like Vince just won't bother which will ruin it for everyone.

I took it he was laughing ironically at the fact that many posters express approbation at the drunken behaviour of rugby fans in Cardiff.

Happy to stand corrected if needs be.

My ha ha is at the joke not the incident.

Agree completely horrendous. I’ve almost been the victim of such a thing on a coach when I was mistaken for a copper.

Hi mate, I was on with my son and also got involved when it went on near the driver. Think you must be the guy with me when we grabbed him and calmed him down.

Could have been a nasty incident if it had continued by the driver. Big thanks to the steward on the bus, Gwilym, too. Luckily nobody was seriously hurt.

I think you're backtracking, as for some odd reason you originally posted simply to mock

Had you then qualified your momentary immaturity with a back up comment in condemnation of the actual event, it would have made a difference then and not now

I don't know what caused the altercation but if what others say happened is right, then it just goes to support my earlier post about "setting good examples to others" :(

On a positive, fair do's to Gwilym (and others) for stepping in to sort it! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Was far from funny at the time I can tell you. Brawling near a driver doing 70mph on the M6 with a coach full of lots of children. Could have ended in tragedy quite easily.

I couldn't agree more and the immaturity of some to think it's even remotely funny says a lot about them!

They should go take a look at some 'clips' of the carnage caused by stupidity on the roads and then think about how many 'innocent' people could have been caught up in it!

Well done to you and anyone else who stepped in to stop it! :ayatollah:

Vince,

As you are keen to be law abiding, I trust you carried out your responsibilities and made sure that the perpetrator was arrested by the police. I’d hate to have had my family scared on a coach by an incident like that and have him get away with it scot free.

I don’t think it was funny. Quite the opposite in fact.

Unlike others above I think they should be banned from coaches and games and probably go to jail.

I laughed at the comment from sneggy about rugby that is all.

Re: VINCE ALM: “ GROWN MEN FIGHTING IN FRONT OF KIDS “

Mon Nov 26, 2018 3:53 pm

I don’t care for any reason for it as none is justified. Some of those kids might not want to go away again because of a father and son fighting ffs. I would have had thrown them BOTH off the coach and let the pair of twats get home on there own, seems fair justice.

I don’t need to apologise for anything. It was a funny joke.
