A forum for all things Cardiff City

I thought City gave it a good go and its frustrating that we are just coming up short.
We are a couple of players light. Hopefully NWL will improve us a bit again. We cant honestly blame the ref for the result. We never looked like scoring until the last 10 mins. While Etheridge pulled off a couple of stops and Bamba did his clearance.
I am not sure why Neil Warnock took off Harris ( unless it was cos he was suffering after the incident with the Everton goalie). I think maybe he could have taken off Camarassa who didnt have a good game today.PACE is so imp in the Premier. We should have had Murphy and Harris on the pitch to try to get an equaliser. I think Everton had Identified Murphy as a threat and were surprised he didnt start. When he came on it was noticeable that they doubled up on him.
Personally, I think Etheridge could play for a top half Premier team - he has been excellent. Also a word for Manga today, he is playing out of position but did very well.
I just hope we can get something against Wolves, still be in the mix at Christmas,

and invest wisely in January.

Ref annoyed the living daylights out of me, maybe that's me showing more passion than you. ?

Kadeem in my opinion just didn’t make any impact. And the penalty shout should of been a pen

There is a recurring theme when you read a lot of our reports - Etheridge and Manga are our regularly better performers - usually along with Arter. The biggest disappointment for me this season has been Hoilett.

Like I said in another post, I'd love to know when the obvious penalty was turned down, or was that just the normal reaction on this forum - we lost so must be the ref's fault.

The 'was it a pen, wasn't it a pen' or offside or throw in going the wrong way will generally equal itself out over a season.
Bamba's goal against Brighton is an example. He was offside, but couldn't be seen by the linesman.
Still not sure how they didn't see him take his shirt off.

Saw a few dodgy decisions yesterday, but can't see where this blatant penalty was. Saw what looked like a foul on one of our players which was'nt given, but if the one I saw had been much further outside the their penalty area, it would have been in our own box.

Imho Joe Ralls should have been subbed early in second half. Then move Arter inside and out Murphy wise left.
Thought JR was poorest player of our team. A few close to him but he edges it.

Steve, when I watched the highlights on MOTD, I was waiting for this apparent penalty denial for City but (for me at least) it wasn't there
I know MOTD is incredibly bias towards certain teams and managers with Lineker's Everton (the longest continuous team In the English top league) being part of 'the clique' but I think even they would have picked a contentious penalty claim up to discuss afterwards and for once, I thought all three pundits were quite warm towards City
The referee made a couple of errors (maybe the throw in being the worse; but even that was a tight call 'on the spot' for the referee and his assistant) and the goal was an individual error that Everton took full advantage of
I think we can pretty much dismiss City's most passionate fan, the reinvented 'Melsuttoholyboots' (surely that should have been Melsutton
sholyboots?) going on his posts to date

Mugs, you're right, he's been awful. What's happened to him, is it his confidence that's gone?

Good old Sven, seen the highlights on the TV and bumping you're gums again. Well they didn't show the incident where the penalty incident occurred. I wonder why, I was yards from it and a great view. My opinion was a stonewall pk. Incidentally is your second name Ericsson. Ho Ho.

Zodiac, what you saw off your TV was not the incident people who went there are referring to. Suggest you put your hand in your pocket, give up your weekend and actually go and observe what goes on. Up the City.

We are coming up short because we are lacking in the final third. Huddersfield won 2-0 at Wolves because Aaron Mooy has that extra quality and scored both goals.
Everton have scored the majority of their goals this season through Sigurdsson and Richarlison who both cost over 40 million. Although we don't have the funds to bring in anyone who can make a difference like that, hopefully Tan will realise we need extra and will be willing to back Warnock a bit further.

Why so they can join his other signings on the bench. Its all very well saying we need more going forward but he spent 12m on Murphy and a reported 10-12m on Reid both who were on the bench, not to mention he didn't spend all his budget. If I was Tan id be giving him a very limited budget in January if im honest.

Luke, do you think the failure/inactivity of Kenneth Zohore has had a bearing on Murphy and Reid?
They both looked like great buys at the start of the season

Never understood the Reid singing, he doesn't seem to fit how we play or we have better/more effective players in his position. When other positons needed to be looked at I still can't quite see why he was bought.
Murphy should be playing every game in my opinion.
I've said from day one I'd like to see Reid as number 10 behind Zohore but to my knowledge its never happened. I don't think Zohore has been given much of a chance, he started the season unfit and at a time where we weren't even trying to play football or attack. I missed the Newcastle game but seen he missed chances but since he has been injured it in and out of the team. Burnley I thought he did well.
I just think the whole squad has a pretty big unbalanced feel to it.

Blue handle. , how many of Ollys signings did you understand then. ? Zohore has had so many chances., he never looks bothered. Patterson has scored when opportunity has arisen and that's not been too often. We are competing against clubs who have spent huge sums of money, just hope we can hang on in there.
