Kenneth Zohore fitness boost for Cardiff
By Peter O'Rourke

Kenneth Zohore is set to hand Cardiff City a boost by returning to fitness after the international break, HITC Sport understands.

Monday 19th November 2018

Danish forward Zohore has missed the last two games against Leicester and Brighton & Hove Albion (?) with a calf problem.

However, Zohore is now making good progress with his recovery and is hopeful of being available again for next week's trip to Everton.

News of Zohore's return will come as a boost to Bluebirds boss Neil Warnock as they look to build on their second win of the season against Brighton and climb out of the bottom three of the Premier League.

Cardiff have struggled for goals so far this season with Callum Paterson being used as a makeshift striker in recent weeks and he is the club's top scorer with three goals.

Cardiff player Kenneth Zohore celebrates after scoring the opening goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Cardiff City and Leeds United at Cardiff City Stadium on September 26,...

Zohore, who played such a key role in Cardiff's promotion from the Championship, has started only three Premier League games so far this term and is yet to find the net.

Warnock will be hoping Zohore, who was first choice striker last season, can quickly find his best form again and save him from going into the transfer market in January to bring in a new forward to bolster his attacking options.

For me if Zohore does not perform before January, he is not going to.

It will be over a year since we seen anything from him.

Going to have to be used as an impact sub for me now. Would be wrong to drop Paterson after his good performances.
If he keeps scoring at this rate 3 in 5 is it ? Then his value will go up dramatically.
Zohore next to Paterson when behind might just work for us. Can see Zohore hasn't really got 90 mins in him. Hopefully he busts a gut trying when given the opportunity, but cant see it myself with his lazy attitude. Big Ken has all the attributes, but doesn't use them or we dont use him to suit us at the moment. Would love him to prove us wrong tho

Annis, I tend to agree; hence the question mark :thumbright:

I hope not but at current rate, he could turn out to be one of the most disappointingly promising players we've had at the CCS for some time!

He ticks the box in so many ways, has shown he can do it and yet even Neil Warnock appears to be at a loss as to 'why' he's fallen away

I'm sure a lot of it is in his head but reality time is upon him and he needs to start showing his worth; otherwise, he will fade away and many of the same City fans who sang his name will soon forget he is there! :(

I still think if any of our current strikers can come good it's him.
He was rushed back into the team after an injury and in a team that was playing poorly.

Hard to dislodge Paterson but if he wasn't available it would be Zohore for me in a flash.

Luke, I think most of us would love to see Kenneth Zohore come good again! :thumbright: :ayatollah:

Chris,
I personally believe Zohore has problems and a bad attitude and Warnock a while back said similar.

I see Zohore being left out after Xmas if he does not start performing from now.

He certainly appears to be in the 'Last Chance Saloon' and (on current form) I don't think City can 'carry' him into the second half of the season without bringing in a decent alternative in the transfer window

We live in hope, as he has shown he can do it and he could yet become another City 'cult hero' :ayatollah:

I am shocked at warnock that if zohore does not come could he might have to regrettably by the sounds of it have to look to the transfer market in january bloody hell i would have thought he our our scouts should have had a long list of possibles by now rather than waiting to see if zohore decides to turn up and leacing it to rhe last minute "again".

I hope he comes back fully fit and raring to go but we also need to play to his strengths by playing the ball to his feet and not lumping the ball up in the air, because he’s not that good in the air.

Can’t drop Patterson and sadly at this stage we must assume that Ken is finished.
If he suddenly improves in the next few weeks that’s great but otherwise it’s Auf Weiderdein Ken

its great to have Zohore fully fit for match action. But the main player I want to see more than anyone is Nathaniel Mendez Laing. He is my favourite in the team. :ayatollah:

I think this is the last chance saloon for Ken. He is going to struggle unless he hits the ground flying and scores in his first or second game. Paterson, Madine, Ward, Reid all ahead of him in the queue. He is going to have to show something special.

The problem is - goals at this level are as rare as rocking horse sh1t - good luck Ken - you are going to need buckets of it

How many players are we realistically going to shift in January. Before Ken, we must sell Madine, Connolly, Peltier, Tomlin and Pilks.

A boost? Not wasting time on it, agree with you. Sadly flash in pan all in his head. Disappointed isn’t the word.

Striker and Ken don't go together imo

We have all been waiting and hoping well over a year for Zohore to hit form again but cant see it happening. I have seen more from Patterson and Ward this season than I have from Zohore in a long time. For me, Zohore is 3rd in the pecking order behind them both. Its a shame we don't play to his strengths but his fitness and work rate is poor and he cant head the ball at all.

If his attitude is as bad as warnock says it is there may be a chance he could be sold in January and replaced if he doesn't get a few goals before then.

Time for him to retire and tell his brother that disappeared after the end of the 16/17 season to take his place back in the team because the Zahore we are currently seeing should be Sunday League not Premier League
