' Callum Paterson '

Fair play to the kid, like most I have wondered where do you play him? Not a right back, he scored a lot for us in midfield last season and has good qualities in the way we play but a midfielder he is not especially at this level.

A striker? Yeah give him a go, he will do a job win some flick ons dangerous at set pieces!! But was obvious today is that this kid is learning listening and is growing in to this role. Some of his hold up play and touches up top were not what you would expect, he’s surprised me and maybe has more to his game than given credit for. He’s got that great habit of being in the right place, he can finish and 3 from 4 can’t Be ignored. Great enthusiasm desire and will to win. Fast becoming my favourite player.

I got to agree, I thought his general play was better today than against Fulham where he was excellent. Can't fault his goal return, he just has that knack.

It’s great for us, he’s literally said nobody is having this shirt back I am enjoying this premier league. Usually gets a chance he scores, if big ken only had 10% of his enthusiasm. Great link up play today. Isolated at times before sending off but worked his nuts off.

To be fair he’s doing good and well done Pato, but we still need a striker

Did well today. His goal was a tap-in but he had to be there. Zohore would probably still be on the half way line.

His work rate is fantastic as well, will always chase down the goalkeeper and defenders.

Couldn't agree more, the boy has the potential to go on to be a legend here.

Love Paters - a natural athlete in my view - puts himself about with gusto and enthusiasm.
However, was a lucky boy not to see red today after going in with his bonce. If he had been sent off i think we would've lost the match.

Paters could also consider ditching the moustache - he resembles one of The Village People at the moment- perhaps someone could come up with a suitable YMCA style chant for him (or maybe not! ). :-)

The moustache is probably for movember

As I said elsewhere , he IS a striker now and the figures prove it.
I've always supported trying him in that problem position but he's doing it properly. It's hard to think who we could buy for the money we'd spend who'd be better actually.

Unbelievable work rate and determination on the lad, love it. Hes scoring goals cant fault him at the moment hopefully he will only get better and stuff like his link up play and finishing will also keep improving

My lad loves his celebrations. Fan favourite for sure. Hope he stays for years and continues to bang em in!

Tbh if we could only sign one player in January I’d pick a right back over a striker now and that’s due to CPs form. Effort is 100% and you can’t argue with 3 goals in 4 appearances.

We know Zohore would'nt have'nt scored that goal yesterday as he has not yet realised that although it's called football, contact with the head is also allowed.

At this rate he could finish the season with 15+ goals. If that were to happen just how much would he be worth then and would we expect interest from other PL sides?

You say a hell of a lot so some of it is bound to come right. However you never mention the bits you get wrong ;)

Yeah I do. I posted yesterday that I'd totally misjudged Kadim Harris. As soon as I realised I'd mistaken someone's post and reacted like an ignorant idiot to it I caused contraversy and knowingly attracted p&&s taking by creating a whole thread to apologise.
No one can foretell the future but the point I've made here before is that you can often work out a lot more than you might think with a bit of lateral thought. In this case we simply didn't have a striker so the only hope was to "make" one out of whatever we had till January. Theoretically anyone could do it, specially any professional footballer but the question was who had the right mental attributes , self belief and determination to pull it off plus a proven goal instinct.

If you thought I was claiming to be psychic or something , I wasn't. Most I've been guilty of was trying to share stuff I took many decades to pick up and which anyone can use in all sorts of ways.
Put it another way - it's spotting stuff which everyone knows but they've missed somehow .

With 3 goals in 4 games how long can Nathan Blake continue to say he's not good enough to play up front for us, and we really are in trouble if Paterson is our striker

Re: Paterson

My favourite player. Attitude, ability, a proper handful and a decent lad. And of course those celebrations.

Re: Paterson

Sun Nov 11, 2018 7:06 pm

I was saying to my dad earlier on today he could end up being a premier league version of Stant!

If you looked at him on paper you'd never say he'd have the attributes we need to lead the line but a combination of working his arse off for 90 minutes and that knack some players have for being in the right place at the right time means he is doing the business - long may it continue!
