MY VIEW/OPINION:

CARDIFF CITY GET THE WIN THEY DESERVE.

Sol Bamba the hero with the winner


Cardiff battled and battled hit the post three times and hit the crossbar against 10 men Brighton.


Brighton were reduced to 10 men after 33 mins.

First half- Very little between the two teams not a football classic, more like Championship football.

Second half - City upped the momentum but could not break Brighton down until the 90th min for the winner they deserved.

7th min an awful start as Brighton took the lead through Lewis Dunk who headed home from a free-kick. 0-1




The first 25 mins was like watching Championship football.


28th min Kadeem Harris took the ball into the box and chipped towards Paterson from the right, it deflecedy into the air off Bong’s leg, and Paterson headed into the net for his third goal of the season. 1-1


33mins Brighton’s Dean Stephens was sent off


Not much really happened after that.

68mins Morrison went off injured and was replaced by Lee Peltier.

City were all over Brighton in the last few minutes.

Obviously delighted with that but we never looked like scoring after they went down to 10 men.

It was one of those games where we had no choice but to throw the kitchen sink at them in the last few minutes. For once it went our way. Very relieved I am.

Didn't look like we wanted to win for large parts of the game. Absolutely no urgency. Waiting for gunners to run 40 yards and wasting 2 minutes to take a long throw time and again.

Not sure we "deserved" much, but we kept going and got it.

Very good win

Im a bit dissapointed in Warnocks reluctance to change things up and make positive substitutions though.

We really should have gone 3 at the back second half there was no need for 2 deep lying full backs.

I think we won more out of desperation and Brighton tiring than out play and it could have been different if he was a bit more adventurous.

Still love the guy though

Not once in that game did we look like we had an extra man,Brighton are a poor team away from home.
Ralls and Murphy were off their game today.

Delighted with 3 points. Arter for Ralls (who was dire) next game.

Poor performance, great result. Gunnarsson and Harris were the only 2 I thought played well. Pato was alright though. Bamba had one of his games where he's like Bambi on ice, Ralls passing was shocking and Camarasa and Murphy were below their usual standard. But the result is what matters and we needed to win this game just to not be cut adrift. Big games over the Christmas period

Very little skill but bags of heart and endeavour.

3 vital points won from what was a must win game

I thought there was some fear after we equalised. We have lost so much they seemed worried about playing too much incase we were hit on the break and lost all the points

We missed arter today,very poor from both sides,no quality at all,but a big 3 points

Too many people automatically think it’s easier to play against 10 men. I don’t understand why as soon as their player was sent off, we didn’t go to three at the back and push a player further forward. Also, against ten, it’s better to play with a bit more width to stretch the opposition and make them work harder. Don’t want to complain too much because we got a much needed three points though.

Grabbed 3 very lucky points. Still can't fathom why NW played Patterson on his own up front especially at home but it sort of worked.

Agree with Bluebird Warrior.
Also thought we were laboured cumbersome and ponderous on the ball for a lot of the game.
We've played alot better and lost games (eg: Arsenal at home).
Thrilled with the win - much needed.
Why can't we play Morro and Manga as centre backs and genuine fullbacks? Manga is a good centre back and tries his best at right back but he just isn't one! Square pegs in round wholes.
Wht couldnt we have played 2 centre forwards when Brighton went to 10?? Ward and Patterson maybe?
Have to raise our standards against Everton. Missed Arter.

We are not going to be much different for rest of season so a win is what counts with performance coming second it is what it is, unless of course fans want to see great football and lose? But today's goal was after 16 passes by us and not for 1st time either so not all up & at them football.

I think we deserved the win.

For most of the second half, we were pretty much camped in the Brighton half.

The biggest problem, again, was creating chances. People talk about signing someone to score goals, first we need someone to create more opportunities. Can’t remember Paterson ever having a clear chance apart from his goal.

We deserved the win because we were relentless, particularly the last 5-10 minutes.

A draw would have been a bad result and not good enough. We got the win and we need to build on this now.

To be fair his comment reflects game after player sent off and Yes it is harder for simple reason is teams adjust and go tighter at back so making it harder! And it is not uncommon for teams to win with ten men as you saw today wasn't easy plus they could scored except for brilliant save from etheridge

All iam trying to say change or try out a few things..
Every manager knows how we play, 1 up front, try 2 up front if not getting any luck.
Free kicks Yes have a pot shot, but don't go to Morrison direct, slide one down the side then put it in..make teams think
Finally on the game as always we battled, Manger looked a bit out of it today...But at 1-1 what a Great save from Etheridge,
There are games out there which we can win and maybe surprise other teams, as long as we don't fall off the pace by Christmas we be in a good position

It wasnt stupid you are right it is harder to play ten men because teams invariably play more defensively hence it is harder to break team down? and as I've said it's not unusual for a team to win with ten men Thats football !.
No idea what starting s game with ten men as got to do with anything as it's clear you are referring to after sending off.

Not sure why have a go at anyone for highlighting something that everyone knows and that is it's harder trying to breakdown a team reduced to 10 men than it is with 11 simply because the dynamics of the game is changed? City havent found it easier that's for sure.
