Long Throws

How many have actually come off? Seems like a lost cause to me...

Easy for the opposition, even if we changed one or two,but we are just so predictable

Not many and so predictable now whether it's by Gunnars or Morrison.

Complete and utter waste of time.

Never changes, never varies.

Never f*cking works.

Shows us up as being limited and unimaginative.

Don't think I've seen one other team in the Premier League do even one "long" throw whereas we do nothing other than long throws whenever we get anywhere near the edge of the 18 yard box.

The opposition usually have three players surrounding Morrison because they know he's the only player we ever launch the ball at.

Even if just once or twice they threw it short for a change but no, long throw after long throw literally throwing possession away.

f*cking ridiculous tactic.

Said the same today, the one got us a corner but even they have been awful. In fact all our free kicks, corners throws have been a huge dissapointed.

And I think Camarasa for a shot off for one.

Got to agree with this, now and again for sure but all the time is a no.

Then long throws are frying me. Play the ball to feet attack the box and cross it in, I think we’ve missed out on a good few goals with these stupid throws.

puts pressure on the opponents and keeps them honest.
the one game we restrained ...Spurs away after the fuss on Sky, every single short throw in the attacking third resulted in a Spurs break..

Gunners throw isn’t even long anymore, he hardly gets it beyond the edge of the box and any higher than waist height, time for a change.

Time to get a Long Throw coach ;)

We hardly won the first ball never mind second ball from any set pieces today.... disappointing especially when the press say it is one of our strengths!

What's the alternative when we are inline with opposition penalty area? We lack movement to receive short ball and if we do we only end up putting ball back to etheridge? At least throws get us inside area which we sadly don't do in most games . :old:

I have noticed how other teams anticipate their throw in often even before the ball has gone over the line, with players moving into space while we stand and watch it cross the line. They gain that extra yard on us. And since linesman seem oblivious these days to what constitutes a foul throws the closet player to the ball takes the throw immediately. We need to wise up.

Contrast that with us. We give the opposition ample time to get organised while we wait for Gunnarson to wipe the ball dry and Morrison to amble up into the box. Its Ok now and again but not all the time.

How desperate does that prove us to be?

You're saying that our Premier League players are unable to find space to receive a ball from a throw and further unable to do anything with it when they get it so we just have to chuck it into the box and pray?

f**k me - things are worse than I thought!

Callum Patterson had a great long throw when he first signed but for some reason they make our tallest player (morrison) or gunners who can’t make it past the first man take them instead. Pointless
