MY VIEW/OPINION

IN A VERY EMOTIONAL GAME CARDIFF CITY TODAY LOST THREE VALUABLE HOME POINTS.

TODAY WAS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A VERY EMOTIONAL DAY AFTER THE TERRIBLE TRAGEDY AT LEICESTER CITY :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

First-half: End to end football, 0-0 was the right score for both teams :bluebird:

Second-half: Leicester City really upped their game and could have scored more than the one goal.

Leicester virtually won the game without Cardiff threatening the Leicester goal.

Very worrying, only one win from Cardiff's first 12 games in all competions.

For me Cardiff should be winning games like this.

CARDIFF CITY 1 LEICESTER CITY 0
H/T 0-0
Crowd 30,877
Away Support 3,020

Cardiff: Etheridge; Manga, Morrison (capt.), Bamba, Bennett; Arter, Gunnarsson, Camarasa; Decordova-Reid, Murphy, Paterson.
Subs: Smithies, Cunningham, Damour, Hoilett, K.Harris, Madine, Ward

A good first half of football end to end.

Both teams struck the crossbar and there was huge penalty shout for Leicester and it looked a def hand-ball.

Leicester hit the bar - and they’re were adamant that there was a Cardiff hand in all that.

Ndidi and Vardy had efforts at goal. And on the replay it did look like Sol Bamba used his arm to block Vardy’s effort onto the woodwork.

H/T 0-0 :bluebird:

Leicester upped their game and attacked Cardiff continuosly,

Then in the 55th min Leicester had it to easy and scored 0-1  It was made by Chilwell but the marking from Cardiff was poor to allow Gray to slot it beyond Etheridge with his left foot. Too easy, Neil Warnock will say.

Leicester fans went mental and their players celebrated like they had won the World cup, it was very very emotional.

Junior Hoilett replaced Robbie Decordova-Reid.

In the 75th min Nearly 2-0 Leicester player Evans had a great chance ... he missed the ball completely after the knockdown from Maddison’s corner begged for just a tiny touch to make it 2-0.

Cardiff got another let-off.

80th min Danny Ward replaced Harry Arter.

Leicester virtually won the game without Cardiff threatening the Leicester goal.

F/T 0-1

Leicester City FC

An emotional victory in South Wales for the Foxes, and one that we'll dedicate to our late Chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, and those who sadly lost their lives.

Shame really but nice tribute.

What do you think needs fixing Annis? New players? Change of tactics?

Piss poor didn't even look like winning and to see some city fans in ninian stand clapping Leicester scoring made me sick

Always going to be a tough game but the team that wanted to win won.
We are not good enough brining the ball down in our half and distributing it decent.. pumping the ball up we are never going to keep control in this calibre of the game.

Heart is there but the skill isn't unfortunately

Back down to Earth (and the League) with a bump!

Would love to know why City 'should' be winning games like this, given Leicester have finished 1st, 12th and 8th in the last 3 seasons.

Granted, it is games like this we should be targeting, but 'needing to win' and 'should be winning' are two completely different scenarios.

Spot on heart is there, but quality skill for Premier League sadly NO.

If you want to stay up , you have to win home games against teams like Leicester who before today were bottom half, if we don’t then it’s rejegation virtually guaranteed sadly

We get hammered by the bigger clubs or lose, so these games have to be won at home.

As I said there is a big difference between needing to win games like this and should be winning games like this!

Re: MY VIEW: IN A VERY EMOTIONAL GAME CARDIFF CITY TODAY

I agree that 'we have to' win games like these but there is a big difference between 'have to' and 'should be'. I agree with earlier poster and feel we do not have the squad and talent to think we should be beating anyone in this division.

Be competitive 'Yes' win some points along the way 'Yes' should be beating teams like this 'No'.

Disagree, they are an established premier league side. We are in the bottom ‘league’ of the premier league. Beat the teams in and around us and we will be alright

Disappointing. No where near the standards we set for ourselves beating Fulham.

We threw the game away days ago.

We were never going to win. It was all about Leicester today all anybody cared about even our players and manager.

We couldn’t possibly of tried winning that game and upsetting them. We had banners to pass around after all.

Spot on. We work very hard but offer very little.

Leicester city a club with a few current, retired and future England internationals, winning the premier league only two seasons ago was always a big ask whatever the situation. We are what we are......

What pissed me off is our virtue signally fans clapping their fans and team at every occasion.

What nonsense.

We were poor like we have been for most of the season. No shape to the team at all today.

Yes very hard but lack quality spent most 2nd half getting possession then losing it next pass! Tbh 2nd half never looked like scoring except from dead ball situation, at one point Leicester must have passed 20times with ease. After today it's easy to see why it's going to be touch & go with relegation., especially as we still give far to much space in our area like for their goal! :old:

Re: MY VIEW: IN A VERY EMOTIONAL GAME CARDIFF CITY TODAY

Sat Nov 03, 2018 6:39 pm

Good effort to restrict Leicester to only 3 or 4 good chances but we didn’t create any of our own, hence the narrow defeat. On other days we might have got something. No point in throwing in the towel yet. :bluescarf:

In agreement with many posts here. Lacking quality and some composure. With no decent marksman and fairly shallow squad in terms of genuine quality you have to say we'll have pulled off a minor miracle if we stay up this season. Certainly cannot see us getting 40 points currently.

Re: MY VIEW: IN A VERY EMOTIONAL GAME CARDIFF CITY TODAY

2nd half was very poor , there seemed no pattern to our play and going route one in the end was painfull to watch.
Very worrying again

I dont get it
It was a tragic accident...... but.

Good people die everyday that make a huge difference to a lot of peoples lives.
People who work for charitys
People who help and look after the needy etc

We should have a massive flag and a minute silence every game if this is the case.
I dont buy it to this hysteria
A minutes silence would have been respectful but cuty fans clapping the Leicester team and goal is just bizarre.

Didn't see or here any of that to be honest, must have been the very small minority.

He was involved in football, it was a football game, made obvious sense to me.

There were quite a few Leicester fans in Ninian stand, it could well have been them
I agree though that the love in should have stopped at 3 as far as we were concerned

Hate being negative but thought that was the worst we played all season , we gave it to Leicester. After the first 2 minutes were shocking didn't look like scoring.

I love Warnock but why bring Madine on why not Kadeem harris a kid who will try his best so I was disappointed also today highlighted our defence are not good enough especially Morrison such silly mistakes he made today and if was not for etheridge we would have lost 2 nil because Morrison passed a ball like a league 1 defender and didn't chase back not that he could with his lack of pace but I thought Morrison was very poor today.
