My two favourite games against Leicester, almost 40 years apart!
October 1970, the match covered by Match of the Day, Dave Carver popped up in stoppage time to record an equaliser against Peter Shilton in the Leicester goal!
March 2010 at the Cardiff City Stadium. Never mind the playoffs which came later in the season, this was the game that sticks in my mind!
Darcy Blake and Gabor Gypes started in central defence, but Blake went off injured to be replaced by Adam Matthews at full back with Paul Quinn moving into centre half. City 2-0 up at half time, an early Steve Howard goal in the second half and a mammoth rearguard action !
Howard clear through with 20 minutes left , only to be rugby tackled by Gypes for a red card! Tony Capaldi had come on for Mark Kennedy and now had to move in to centre back! Warren Feeney replaced Kelvin Etuhu for the last 25 minutes of the game too. It may have been a City team made up of bit part players but what a team performance and what an atmosphere that night!
