What affect will the sad new have on the Leicester team?

Wed Oct 31, 2018 1:30 pm

They are apparently traveling by coach now on Friday instead of flying, training will have been affected and some players will still be in shock and may not be mentally ready to play?

On the other hand, you can imagine Vardy and some of the players absolutely desperate to give their all and try and win?

Obviously also the atmosphere could affect either set of players, how will our fans react, will we get behind the team in the same way as we have this season?

It's going to be a strange day, I hope we are respectful but professional and don't let the occasion affect us too much?

If it's anything like the effect it's having on me at this point, they probably won't turn up.

Claude Puel says the result will be insignificant when Leicester City play their first Premier League match since the death of owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha.

Leicester chairman Srivaddhanaprabha was one of four people killed when his helicopter crashed outside King Power Stadium shortly after last weekend's draw against West Ham.

The tragedy has taken a heavy emotional toll on the club and Saturday's trip to Cardiff City was in doubt following the postponement of the scheduled EFL Cup tie against Southampton.

Puel revealed his players agreed as a group to proceed with the Premier League fixture in tribute to Srivaddhanaprabha.

"The game is not important, the result is not important. But our desire, our action, our power to give our best on the pitch, to honour our chairman, I think is the most important thing," the Leicester manager said.

I think they will be well up for it and likely to start quick. Maybe the lack of training will mean they haven’t focused on details like who picks up who from set pieces etc

Hoping I’m wrong but I think the drive they have to perform for the owner will be too much for us and we will get beat.

As for us fans, we need to get behind OUR players once the minute silence has been done

They are sure to be keen to impress. I think the occasion may get to a few and put them off their game, whether we will gain enough of an advantage to get the win I'm not sure, but I think it gives us a slightly better chance?
