Don't want to sound insensitive but all this leicester stuff is just to much!!

People saying we should do this,do that,sing this,sing that etc.Don't get me wrong,what happened was sad beyond words but we should respect them by observing a minutes silence and then that's it.

We need 3 pts badly so we must be professional otherwise the game should have been postponed.Leicester will go all out to smash us for their owner,we need our fans roaring us on for the full 90mins.

he is quite clearly being sarcastic due to the insane stuff posted on here the last few days....
wave mutated flags...concede our home colour..sing Leicester songs and anthems at various points..have clappers and wind fans...the list goes on.....

Also every goal scored should be also factored for Leicester. I.e. if we win 2-1 it counts as 2-3. A 1-1 draw is 1-2.

Obviously extremely sad and a tragedy but there is a touch of the Princess Di and Jade Goody hysteria going on in some quarters. (I remember one old fella on TV saying he felt sadder when Di died than when his wife died ffs)

Dignified respect to a guy who was obviously a decent fella but mass wailing and throwing of flowers and I'm out. Unfortunately in this time of social media there does appear to be a case of everybody chipping in with a 'why aren't you as sad as me' and everybody should do this or that be it a march, statue or holding hands.

In a short amount of time normality will resume as it always does.

Dignified respect with a minutes silence and then game on. I would have thought that as a football man it would be what he would have wanted rather than co-ordinated mass mourning like you see in the middle east. However I am getting on a bit and am a bit old fashioned so maybe I am wrong.

Agreed, ffs it was a horrid tragedy for the friends and family of the people on board, but none of us or even most Leicester fans actually knew him or them. Perhaps we should sing songs for Matthew Harding too, bit late I know but..

I certainly won't be singing Leicester songs or hoping our players roll over. If anyone has a problem with that then I'll ask them to visit my brothers grave, someone else they don't know!

Very good post. I said something similar in one of the 200 threads on the same subject where I just restrained myself from referring to this as Princess Dianna syndrome , but that's exactly what it is.

This thread sort of links into an article I read last year about football. It's an interesting read and makes some valid points about the increasing obsession in football about showing respect for some disaster or another and asks the question are football fans going to far?

On Saturday I will take part in any formal thing that both clubs have agreed to do but as other posters have said, once that whistle goes, it's game on and I'd imagine that is what both sets of players would want.

Getting a bit embarrassing now. Their players will be fired up enough for this game to try and win it in his memory already. The last thing we need is to sing songs and hold scarves up for them as well. Pay our respects with a minutes silence before kick off and then treat it like any other game. We need the 3 points.

I wish I shared your confidence. It only takes a few idiots, of which I think we have some like anyone else, and sooner or later it's going to happen and be all over the press isn't it ?

A minute silence from the crowd and everyone else in the ground, black armbands and applaud them when they sing the chant they've planned to sing at a certain time and leave it at that.
