A huge club like liverpool with a touristy support with no atmosphere at most home games and playing UCL.
Or just be like ourselves up and down the top 2 tiers with an atmosphere at most games?
I'm happy just as we are we are fellas

I feel like this club is ours. It represents where we live and we are part of it and can help the club with our support.
I really can’t see how anyone supporting a mega club like Liverpool can feel the same.
It was bizarre up there yesterday. Thousands and thousands of tourists. Mostly sat in their hands or taking selfies.

On my previous visits to anfield with wales the atmosphere there was far more excitement, yesterday was extremely poor in that respect.

If they had more local fans in the ground each it would probably be a lot better.
I do have a lot of rexpect for the scousers, they have 2 big clubs about a mile from each other. Liverpool is a proper football city
Unlike wales, where rugby is as popular. Shame on is fellow taffs for being 1 of around 12 countries who take that scum infested shit seriously.

I wouldn't rather be anyone else. However , we should be aiming at the sort of position which Liverpool are in. It took them a few decades of course but it was formed when Bill Shankley got the whole club and supporters working together rather like Sir Neil has done.
In those early days they didn't sack the manager or lose commitment when things went a bit wrong and that hAs been the essence of their success . We can perhaps do that too if we remember exactly the points which you made.
If and when we do, I'm afraid we'd also get the trendies who want to follow ready made success but in fairness such people provide the global revenue streams which make the purchase of world class players possible.
When I was a kid up a mountain in Wales with old Colliers coughing bits of lung up and some kids who couldn't afford shoes, I was always told by my late mother, "Just remember, you're as good as any other bugger". Well, in time I went out into the bigger world and I discovered that was actually true. I tell you this because I see some folks here who seem scared to aim high because we're "only little Cardiff", but that's not true. We're no longer "little Cardiff" even now - we're already those cheeky little Welsh bastards who think they're good enough for the Premier League and increasingly justify that pretention.
We can in time be " Mighty Cardiff" if we are truly determined to achieve that and insist upon our place at the top table.

The atmosphere from their fans yesterday was shockingly bad.
How many of their supporters really enjoyed themselves yesterday I wonder? Ultimately they beat a team comfortably- a team who were given no chance against them - a team who collectively cost about a third of what they paid for one of their centre halfs - a team they were EXPECTED to beat comfortably.
So did they enjoy that? Or were they just a little bit concerned when we made it 2-1 (with a goal from open play as well!) that perhaps their day wasn't going to go as easily as they thought it was going to.
There was certainly an element from their fans of waiting to be entertained - no singing except after each goal, no encouragement and certainly no vocal backing when their team really needed it ie after we scored. And make no mistake, although we were well beaten by an excellent team of skilful, there was a short spell after we scored that they looked a little uneasy and a doubt or two seemed to creep into their play.
Ultimately quality told of course but when you look at the players they could bring in from the bench that's hardly surprising.
But, despite the result, I'm sure that I enjoyed seeing my team, OUR team who may be light years away from some of their players in terms of skill and ability, give 100% for the shirt and battling to defy the odds.

Yes a proper football city because don't have another sport as an opposition do they? Football in Cardiff is far more popular than you think it's just the media creme over anything rugby, outside of internationals club rugby is on its arse financially and lacks any worthwhile support . When comes to football same media are ambiguous to reporting it unless it's worthwhile news.

I doubt I would even go if we became like that, it’s the same at United Chelsea etc. No doubt they have great loyal fans who probably pick the big games and leave the rest for the tourists. Have posted about this recently, win lose or draw we got our Cardiff back. We are loud proud and also proud of where we come from, we have players and manager who will die for the shirt and I absolutely love it.

No, your right - very good post and a very good point. I wouldn't want to watch them if they became a moneyball team either, but I'd like to imagine that we could act differently if we got that far.
Actually I've often said that if I were a Manchester City fan I wouldn't want to watch them anymore, so you really do have a powerful point there
