ERIKSSON TO COACH PHILIPPINES
27/10/18
Former England manager Sven-Goran Eriksson will take charge of the Philippines national team at next month's Suzuki Cup and the finals of the Asian Cup next year.
The 70-year-old - who was recently linked with the head coach's role in both Iraq and Cameroon - is expected to arrive in Manila next week for the team's training camp.
He takes charge of the team two months after Terry Butcher stepped down from the role without having led a training session. The former England captain was appointed in June only to announce in August that he would not be continuing in the role.
Eriksson, meanwhile, has been out of work since leaving Chinese second division side Shenzhen FC in June 2017.
