How many morons ?

We know that the wonderful sport of football attracts a certain amount of freaks for some reason , which doesn't seem to be so much of a problem in other sports.
Now, this is a great forum and there are some excellent posters, posts and threads about football and other stuff. We can also see the moron factor at work here, but actually not as much as you might expect for what is quite a big club with an occasionally questionable history regarding hooliganism.
I haven't been collecting data or anything, but I get the impression that we have a lot less dicks who want to insult and threaten each other than a lot of other clubs.
Am I right in this impression and, if so, how have we managed to discourage them so effectively ?

In any case, well done to everyone for not letting the board degenerate into a series of retarded nasty posts of the sort you see in the sites of some other Clubs. I'd ask what we could do to improve still further, but I think we've got it to an optimum already.

Still its been noted you've alot to say for yourself especially as you've only been a member since July.By far the biggest curse on this forum are the amount of multis currently posting.Who were you in a previous life?

There was a time when this message board was full of posters who would add personal insults to their arguments. It might not of been totally eradicated but it happens a lot less these days.

I have been around since day one of this board and I have no problem in stating that the standard of posting at the moment is the highest since it's inception.

There are a high number of threads I now read without contributing to because frankly I enjoy reading the different views and have nothing else to offer!

i think its less personally. more click bait and regurgitated news stories than ever before. at least back in the old days the site had more personal opinion and debate, even if it did cross the line sometimes.

No, I'm sorry to dissapoint, but I've never posted here in the past . ( not quite true... I did join and do one post some years ago but then I forgot the password and got too busy professionally to bother with it). Whatever I wrote that one timewas entirely non contentious though.

There was something about being an eccentric character. Yeah, why not ? Sometimes I'm perfectly serious and sometimes I go out of my way to be a bit contraversial and evocative . As I explained recently that's just me trying to give something back to the forum - maybe feed people a few obvious lines and comebacks.
I don't see anything wrong with that actually, in fact I'd hope that it might make someone smile sometimes or get them furiously typing their disagreement .

I don't say anything nasty though, or try to make anyone look silly, ( which wouldn't be very hard sometimes), and I mean everything I say, even if I do often say it in a colourful way. It's about football and specifically Cardiff City, but I don't see why we can't have a bit of fun along the way.

Oh no, it's really not a duplicitous or evasive answer Sneggy. The only reason I said that was that someone else in the thread implied that I can't have informed opinions because I only recently joined the forum. I'm not suggesting that you get a medal for being a long serving supporter , just that you can be that without necessarily being on this forum.
I'll take your statement that I post as if I've done it before as a compliment. I certainly have written stuff in the past , even been paid for that occasionally, and some of my long bitter experience of life has included public speaking of various sorts, so perhaps that explains my quick take up of the idea.
As I said recently I'm quite good with the wordies so I try and use that to entertain my beloved Cardiff City fans here when I can. That's all - nothing sinister I promise you.
I mean, you never know how stuff is going to be received so maybe it doesn't always play well. I can actually do a lot better than this, but to be honest I don't take any time thinking about it or editing .

If it matters, ( which it doesn't really) I'm quite happy for the forum admin to look at my IP address( not publish it) and that'd soon exculpate me as a suspected dual identity . As I said, it doesn't matter but you really are barking up the wrong tree here !

Incidentally, who was the chatter you think I might be so I can look at his posts and know whether I should be complimented or upset.

But hey - it must be working to some extent because this is great fun !
