Any idea as to why he has been dropped to the bench? Supposed to have picked up a slight knock before the Man City game but has been fit enough to be on the bench. Best left back we have got, been present when we had two clean sheets and forgotten after 1 mistake against Chelsea.

Suprised that he has been forgotten about.

That’s against Hazard ffs! Pretty much EVERY full back gets skinned by Hazard! Cunningham is alright, but Bennett offers a lot more in my opinion...Cunningham was at fault for their first goal, too busy berating Etheridge and didn’t get back in position to stop his man scoring. Bennett back in for me.

Totally agree. Hazard or not, it was an appalling excuse for a tackle.

That is one mistake against Hazard. Prior to that Bennett had been one of our stand out performers and was part of a defence that kept clean sheets! The defence should have been left alone but instead 3 were changed against Man City and further changes today. Bennett is the best left back we have and should be in the team.

Hazard didn't skin Bennett - it was just a weak, poorly timed attempt to get the ball by Bennett which presented it to a world class player in an area of the pitch where he could do so much damage.

Not saying Cunningham is the answer but Bennett has not been great either. Our full backs have a habit of "tucking in" and putting a lot of defensive responsibility on our wingers - Murphy was partly at fault for Bournemouth's second goal remember - and quite often when teams have been attacking down our left hand side I've wondered where Bennett is only to see him jogging about in midfield.
