5,000 Sunderland fans have made the 420 mile round trip away to Coventry for the early kick off.
Over 5000 fans, 420 mile round trip, in the 3rd division after 2 successive relegations. That is superb
And it’s live on sky.

Watched it on sky and it didn't look as if there were 5000 there altogether.
I recalled a recent posting here about poor attendance in the Championship which surprised me, and looking at this game I wondered how long teams like this can carry on paying wages. It also occurred to me that we've got a great advantage over many clubs because we certainly can fill a stadium every week if we remain at a higher level .

Obviously, before someone points that out, Sunderland are one of the few teams who could also do that if they were a bit more successful on the field .
