CARDIFF CITY V BURNLEY

' Nel Warnock / Sean Dyche '

What have the managers said?

NEIL WARNOCK:

"It’s not a must win but it is very important to us. The two away games coming up at Tottenham and Liverpool with one home game in between means it’s difficult, but it’s a very difficult period. The importance of the game can’t be put under the carpet.

"Winning your first game is always important that’s why I’ve been so disappointed that we’ve not made the most of our opportunities. But we’ve just got to get on with it."

"I think from Burnley’s point of view they’d be looking at this as a good chance of getting 3 points as you can understand. From our point of view the fixture list hasn’t been too kind.

"The first ten games we’ve played the top seven from last year. That was a little bit cruel on us but we’ve just got to hang in there. This is a big game. Apart from the top six anything is winnable in this league and Burnley are in that category.

"Sean’s got a strong work ethic so we must be sure we’re ready for that and hopefully we can cause them problems."

SEAN DYCHE:

"Cardiff have had a tough start, partly through their fixtures and partly because its tough in the Premier League.

"We have to earn the right again though.

There's been a bit of external and internal pressure bulding. You get it externally and we've come to realie that. Probably more so nwo because of the seaosn we had last season, so in a way it's deserved.

"Internally it's different. Internally it's your own responsibilty.

"I don't worry about the outside noise, I've been in the game all my life.

"In the camp you've got your own demands and your own reminders to go and win games."

at home to a struggling burnley when we've got 2 from 6 games? clearly this is very much a must win game, and warnock knows this.

No, it's not. We don't HAVE to win it to stay up. It's very important like he said but it's not a 'must win'.

i think we all agree that when the next fixtures are spurs and liverpool away, and fulham at home, yes it's critical we get three points from a relegation rival at home.

once a decent gap starts to open up, it's very difficult to drag yourself out of it. we need to pick up points, and fast.
