Ms Healey described seeing about 20 men she had never seen before approaching the pub from Hereford Street, dressed in shorts and jeans, some with hoods up.

The land lady told the court they were running and waving their arms around.

The land lady

She said there was "pushing and shoving" and she again told the men to leave.

Questioned about what she saw, she said: "From the corner of my eye, it looked like punches were being thrown."

Ms Healey said she went outside after the men left the bar and saw them getting on to a minibus, which was parked on the corner.

She watched the minibus drive away.

Describing the aftermath, she said: "There were smashed plastics, smashed bottles of beer, spilled."

She added: "There was an old guy who was injured. He had a cut to the back of his head, a bloodshot eye and a cut to his face.

"There was a younger guy with injuries. He had a cut to his head as well."

She said the police arrived and she closed the pub early, at around 9pm, having been standing in for her boss and on duty with another female staff member.

Asked how she felt, she replied: "Obviously upset and a bit shaken and angry."

Someone referred to them as Villa 'lads' and then I see these images!

Probably narked and got a bit grouchy and overtired when they found out they don't serve Horlicks in The Cornwall to help them sleep on the way home!

Great examples to their children and (likely looking at them) grandchildren!

Baldest firm by the looks of it.

I’d be very surprised if anyone who got off that bus doesn’t get jail.

No respect, no kudos only a gold medal for stupidity to them.

Sometimes by accident things happen, I’ve got sympathy for those that get caught up in that, like the people left in that pub , but those who actually go looking for trouble really must have something missing upstairs.

They not only tried to ruin someone else’s life, but have now wrecked their own, and probably their families too.

And if anyone thinks they are ‘brave’, have a word with yourselves. If they were brave they would be in the army, or boxing against people their own size, not throwing bottles from 20 yards away.

This shit is dead, and from a dad who’s 17 year old goes everywhere watching us I’m glad.

If anyone still thinks it’s clever send me a PM and I’ll tell you some true stories about how it ruins lives

Astounds me as to how daft the villa lot must have been for even thinking in this day an age of the cctv that they would brazenly try to attack a pub in broad daylight an full view of the cameras,AV4s argument that villas lads were heroes an are the best 'firm' in the country is quite laughable...yes if thats your game then fair play to the villa for going looking for it but at that time of night??come on if they were that game and kean surely they'd have showed when cardiff had a firm there an hour or 2 before and not waited till only a handful were about to launch their cowardly attack
