NEIL WARNOCK: WE COULD HAVE HAD FIVE OR SIX

Neil Warnock says Cardiff 'could have had six or seven' against Arsenal
Sky Sports

Neil Warnock said he really enjoyed Cardiff’s clash with Arsenal despite losing 3-2. Warnock felt Cardiff created enough chances but failed to convert them as they still search for their first win of the season.

Neil Warnock said Cardiff 'could have had six or seven' as they broke their scoring duck in a 3-2 defeat to Arsenal.

The Bluebirds scored twice and were guilty of spurning several more good opportunities against the Gunners, who continued to falter after their slow start to the season but sealed victory late through Alexandre Lacazette.

The manner of the defeat was enough to give encouragement to Warnock, whose side are still without a win but looked potent against a side who will expect to challenge for a European place.

The Cardiff manager said: "We had quite a lot of chances, with a lot of bodies in the box, and they've listened. We could have had six or seven and against Arsenal, that's the pleasing thing for me.

"It was tough, but I really enjoyed the game. We were always in it, we missed some great chances, and your top teams take a few of those."

In spite of the positives, Warnock conceded there were areas that needed to improve, even with the quality of Arsenal's second and third goals.

He said: "A couple of the goals were disappointing. Lacazette was unbelievable but the centre-half shouldn't have had a free header from the corner. It wasn't their fantastic play that leaves someone at a corner, or turns and shoots in the near post, that's defending that we need to be better at."

Bit OTT but with more composure from Arter, Morrison at the end and Reid yeah could have nicked a few more.

Maybe 4 or 5 goals same as Arsenal could have had but I was well pleased walking out of the ground knowing we can give the so called big boys a game. Only a matter of time before we start winning most of our home games. Great atmosphere today but could have done without a few gobby gloating Arsenal fans walking behind us up Sloper Road, sheer lack of class.

Good to get that goal at last and agree we could have scored 3 or 4 but the boys put in a shift and i feel a bit more confident that we can now move on and get that all important first win, who knows it could be Man City again :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

He does not name names but isn't he describing where Bamba was at fault.

he doesn't need to name anyone as both incidents were Bamba.he didnt have the best of games all round, but yesterdays opponents were quite a big step up in quality from the first 3.

And so could Arsenal.

They defended as poorly as City on occasions.

Difference was a £100m pair of strikers.
