MY OPINION:CARDIFF CITY TODAY TOOK THE GAME TO ARSENAL AND

MY VIEW / OPINION

OVER ALL CARDIFF CITY TODAY TOOK THE GAME TO ARSENAL & DESERVED AT LEAST A DRAW.

City finally get the goals but not the win they so vitally need.

My man of the match either Harry Arter or Danny Ward :thumbright:

FairPlay both clubs made it an exciting game to watch and end to end football :ayatollah:

Firsy-half Arsenal looked like they were going to over run City, but City finished the half by far the stronger and equalised to make it 1-1 :bluebird:

CARDIFF CITY 2 ARSENAL 3.
Crowd 32,316
H/T 1-1

Neil Etheridge Bruno Manga Sean Morrison Sol Bamba Joe Bennett Victor Camarasa
Joe Ralls Harry Arter Junior Hoilett Bobby Reid Danny Ward

SUBS: Brian Murphy Lee Peltier Greg Cunningham
Callum Paterson Kadeem Harris Gary Madine Kenneth Zohore

Cardiff and Arsenal both went in this game not full of confidence and both having a poor start to the season.

1st 10 mins, both teams going at each other. Both had glorious chance each to score.

Arsenal score 1-0 11 mins from corner

Hoilett nearly scored a fierce shot just past post 19 mins.

Morrison made careless mistakes, Manga too and Bamba.

Arsenal hit post 33 mins

But City ended 1st half strong and equalised 1-1 :bluebird: :bluebird: Victor Camarasa :ayatollah:

H/T 0-1

Nothing to note for the first 10mins

58 mins Danny ward curled a shot wide

62 mins 1-2 Arsenal, excellent shot from outside the box

City had a good spell of pressure.

Then Ward made it 2-2 :thumbright: :ayatollah:

City really went for the win and took the game to Arsenal.

81 mins. 2-3 Arsenal, hell of a strike. Etheridge had no chance

It was not to be for City.

Annis this performance shows with right formation and tactics we can hold our own, we deserved a point couple errors cost goals but overall very pleased with performance :bluescarf:

Lots of positives from the attacking side but our rocks from last season had a shocker today!!

Bamba lost his man twice for 2 of their goals and Morrison has to get closer and stop the shot! It's on the edge of our area.

Great character from the team.

Hoilett works hard getting back but his fianl ball was awful today.

It was a shame Murphy was out!!

I thought Reid, Ward & Bennet all had brilliant performances!

Spot on Allan :thumbright: :bluebird:

We must continue to play like we did after the first 25mins :bluebird:

Premiership quality was the difference. Bamba lost a yard or so on defender for two of the goals.

That's what it takes.

2 very difficult games coming up where we will face the same quality. Time to learn from it all and hopefully we will that will see us through.

Definitely competed today! Again. More shots on target please! But nice to get the goals!

Good game. Could've gone our way. Draw was probably fair. But then that's what 100m quid strike force gets you, 2 shots two bullets!

Can't fault our players. Gave their all. Few mistakes. But ran their hearts out.

Only one 'team' out there. The other is just an expensive group of talented individuals. Think they were more organised under Wenger, they didn't seem to have a plan.

Another good post I totally agree with, best game by City so far, but we must cut out costly mistakes, exciting match we deserved at least a point :bluebird:

A lot of truth there, quality finally won and we made mistakes, but we gave everything :bluebird:

Great post and money as you say won the game at the end, a draw we deserved :bluebird:

Everytime we didn't press them and let them play that's when we conceded. When we press them they made mistakes and we actually took the game to them.

This was Arsenal at their weakest, at first we gave them to much respect and as u say, when we attacked we looked good :bluebird:

'At their weakest' I think that's just arsenal these days. Miles off Man City and Liverpool.

Id say that Sir Neil is close to perfecting the recipe now. Also the players are getting acustomed to what is required at the level

Sadly, and despite the goal, Danny Ward just isn't quite quick enough, although he hasn't been getting game time and maybe he can sharpen up ,( the others took 3 games).
I think that Josh Murphy would have made the difference today, and we can expect him back.
Bobby Ried is very very close to fully sparking and showed that.
Sol must learn not to hang on to the ball so much, but he did great otherwise.

Both new midfielders brilliant, but can Harry Arter play a game without being booked ? Not knocking him, it's just commitment but we can't afford to lose him through bans. ( there's a future manager to start training by the way).

The " road to Berlin" was never going to be as easy as some thought but nor will it be impossible, and we're definitely going in the right direction at this point.

Great battling to get level twice,if only Arter had taken his chance at 0-0 it could have been a different game.
Cant really complain too much tho.

Keep playing like that and we’ll be fine, very encouraging :ayatollah:

I think it bodes well for the future. Let’s be honest if we had two £60,000,000 strikers we would have won comfortably.
There are quite a few teams in this league with less talent than Arsenal who we will be aiming at.

BBC
just put this out

Cardiff are winless in six matches in all competitions (D3 L3), their worst run under Warnock and worst since a run of eight in January and February 2015.

A great game to watch and unlucky after a battling performance! :thumbright:

It all augs well for the future and hopefully those goals will be the catalyst for some winning performances when we recommence battle with the teams who will be around us as the season progresses

I was heartened by the team spirit and performance today! :ayatollah:

Well I was just about to post asking exactly how Lineker & Co would rubbish this encouraging performance and you pre empted the question

Maybe they'd like to see us sack Sir Niel and appoint some pirouetting Nancy boy foreigner to shepherd us back quietly into the championship where they think we belong ?

Ain't gonna happen Mr Lineker ! You're the one likely to get the sack for breaking the BBC Charter by engaging in political campaigning, not our manager who has got a great record with our Club, no matter his selective you are with your statistics !!!

As Donald Trump might say , " very dishonest people "

So I guess as 4 of those games were in the premier league, they don't think there's any difference from the Championship??
Strange statement!!
As I said a few weeks ago £1.7m/year for Gary Lineker. What a waste of licence payers money!! :banghead:

I think a lack of composure from some players eg Arter and Hoilett do cost us big chances.

Also something needs to be done with set plays, days like today where we miss a Whittingham type player.. no idea at all in our set pieces and who are our strongest player is for them.
