Gary Madine / Danny Ward

I didn't watch the game last night but there seems to be a LOT of hate for him this morning.

Anyone on here think people are being harsh or are the comments fair?

I've always backed him to come good but some of the comments are worrying

On a better note , Danny Ward looks to be doing well

Gary had a chance to shoot early in the second half but hesitated. Danny ward was our best player when he came on.

I thought Madine looked quite sharp, won a lot of balls in the air and was pretty quick on his feet, he went off and then we started crossing balls into the box when our biggest threat in the air was taken off.

He had a chance but was surrounded by two players and couldnt really get the shot off.

Need to give our players a break and enjoy the ride that we are on, Darmour lost the ball a lot, Harris was pretty sharp, Reid got shoved off everything and we seem to be scared to have a pop at goal from outside the box.

Overall not great out of the Cup but only lost once in PL and club is in good shape, enjoy the ride and support the boys

I actually think madine would do better than zohore. Zohore bases his whole gane on strength and speed and yet isn't particularly quick or strong. Atleast madine wins headers and plays people in

I think if Madine had held it up a little more often we may have been more effective. He was nodding it on to no one most of the game. Either no one knew the game plan - ironic given the “do you know the game plan signs up all match”. Or Madine couldn’t do the planned game plan.

Madine hardly won anything in the air and was bullied for most of his time on the pitch, Norwich simply sussed him out and knackered him out. If no-one didn't pick up on the tactic they deployed to remove him as any threat then specsavers is well overdue a trip for you.

He's a one trick pony whose easily sussed out and in this case we're talking about a Championship second string, let alone an established Premier side. God forbid.

yes his fan club were out in force last night.....but nobody on that thread that youd not expect on it..

Madine is truly awful and looks uninterested, get rid asap I say.

Danny Ward runs and runs but does not hold the ball up and is not going to cut it in the PL, and I am optimistic we will stay up.
Our forwards are our weak link as everyone knows sadly.

He did indeed win very little. But what he did win he nodded to nothingness.

My eyesight is fine ta. We both saw he was utterly ineffective.

I agree. Hardly won a header all night. In fact I thought he was absolutely awful and looked like a league 1 or 2 striker.
Pilkington needs to be in the 25 man squad instead of him, in my opinion. Loan him back to Bolton for God sake!
