NEIL WARNOCK: " LOAN PLAYERS / DEPTH OF OUR SQUAD "

Wednesday 29th August 2018

Any movement out in terms of loans?

NW: "Not at the moment as I'm aware. One or two rumours and things but you're going to get that. It'll be right to the death, desperado coming in!

"Everyone knows we're probably one player missing that just wasn't meant to be. So we've got to go with what we've got, that's how it is."

Are you concerned about a lack of depth?

NW: "Not really, I think the depth is there, I think we've got to keep the fitness levels up for the lads not involved because the Premier League is such a massive step regarding movement and things like that.

"You haven't got to get too carried away when you look at the players who were missing tonight and what they could do... would we have got better supply? Better areas?

"But tonight hasn't answered my questions, which I'd hoped it would."

Is wing now a position of concern?

NW: "I know. I thought we were laughing there. We tried to get another one on the right before the deadline but unfortunately that wasn't really acceptable. It's one of those things."

Every Premier Club only has 25 players and all have to cope equally with injuries :thumbright:

It's the quality in the squad that's the problem Annis not the numbers. Last night's team looked worrying weak to me bar or two considering that's our back up options.

Jack, exactly and we knew this in June, but I get shot down when ever I say the quality is not there and we have a squad that is virtually guaranteed to get relegated.

To not bring on a striker for premier was criminal..as I said before season Warnock is brilliant in championship but he doesn't have a good scouting network in Europe and when he has money he is not the best..free transfers are his strength...he has muddled thinking on transfers for example in January he tried to get midfielder From boro for 4 million..

When that failed he wasted 6 million on a striker ..the planning is not the best..but he is our best manager ever ..however we are now in premier league and haven't prepared properly

Well I wouldn't shoot you down. You're bang on the money and I won't mention the reason for it because I'll get shot down myself! Too many guns around methinks :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We honestly need more money spent on better quality players, everyone can see it & could. In the Premier League, passion/guts/desire is 100% not enough to survive with.

Totally correct but that ship has sadly sailed. January will be too late and I doubt if any more cash would be available anyway, whatever position we may find ourselves in ;)
