Iv seen a few on here comment that if we didn’t buy reid and put the money towards a 15/20 mil striker we d be banging them in for fun
So who are these 15/20 mil strikers that would be bangin them in for us? One of them who’s name was thrown about is rondom, who currently can’t hit a barn door for Newcastle. Personally I’m glad we’ve got reid instead of rondom who’s got a lot more potential imo, half the price and less than half the wage no doubt.

Was not Troy Deeney mentioned this summer?
Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:05 pm
Troy Deeney is on 100k a week apparently so he’s a definite no go.
Mon Aug 27, 2018 7:06 pm
Deeney scored 5 last season. 10 the season before that and 13 before that one. Would he have even been what we want?

How do you work that one out considering will grigg scored like only 5 goals last time he was in the championship and Bobby Reid finished top goal scorer in the championship last season the same league Forresteri plays in? Reid will score if we play him in his correct position just behide the striker

Possibly. Everyone was loving it when reid signed, he was starting in everyone’s predicted lineups, personally I think most strikers would struggle in our play at the moment. I don’t rate Zohore much anymore, he had a decent spell but that was it.

Wow, how do you make that claim ?
Neither would get in the side let alone better than we have.

In January I'd put 15 mill on the table to take both.

Just curious if anyone thinks that we aren’t creating enough chances for our loan forwards? My biggest concern all summer was central midfield. I’m glad we have Arter and Camarasa but god forbid one gets injured or collects enough yellows for a ban. Next issue I have is Pelts at RB. Even Manga, whom I rate as a class CB is caughtbout in that position. Why Jazz is not being given license to add attacking flair down the right flank is beyond me. For what it’s worth, Reid was imo a class acquisition. But, he needs to be played in a 4-4-2 soon to get the goals he has proved capable of in Champ. There are no other “15-20mil” options out there. Madine is ok as loan striker, Zohore as always needs to work on his fitness = work rate, Reed can’t play there alone and letting Bogle go reguardless of his attitude was a mistake imo. Pilks is useful as impact sub.

Take it you didn't see Zohore's cameo against Man United? If only we can get him fit!

People get too obsessed with goal scorers the simple truth is that in the prem your going to be lucky to get someone to score 10 goals and even if you have one that bangs them in it doesn’t mean your gunna stay up look at QPR the season Austin got 18 or Fulham this year that will go down despite Mitrovic scoring far more than most strikers in this league.
It doesn’t matter where the goals come from so long as you score enough throughout the team and more importantly have a solid enough defence. Would be shocked if our top scorer gets more than 8 or 9 league goals but like I have said since before the season started we will stay up.

People need to stop sniffing glue if they think we are going to splash 20mill on one player, media bollocks to get him a move it always happens
