I thought Villa were under pressure regarding the FFP rules. I know its only a loan but it will still cost them a fair bit. If they don't go up this year they will definitely have problems next year.

They have new investors, so have no cash flow problems, but as has been said, if they fail to go up they will be under a transfer embargo next summer. They’ll be well in breach of ffp.

I thought the same. How come they were needing to find £40m from somewhere only a few months ago and now they can afford to turn down £25m from Spurs for Squealish and sign players like Bolasie?
I realise that the new owners have got plenty of money but Tan has got plenty of money and it didn't stop us from being right in the shit and having a transfer embargo placed on us. How does having a new mega rich owner suddenly mean that FFP is no longer a problem or are they just another club gambling everything on getting up this season?
