Gary Madine loophole ?

I really don't know the answer to this , but I expect that someone will.

If we were to loan Gary Madine to Bolton , ( or anyone else in the Championship), before the deadline for that, would that create an exception which would allow us to bring in a new striker to the 25 man squad ?

Well, actually I think it would ,but would that include an entirely new player or only someone already at the club ?

Obviously that would also mean finding the money, but probably everyone now realises that it was a mistake not to have brought in an out and out goal scorer in time.

If you sell or loan out a few players in the 25 man squad you can replace them with free, out of contract players and players already at the club, until the 31st. August to make sure you have 25 men in the squad. I cannot see that Warnock has found another striker on a free or out of contract in the uk, or even abroad, but there, what do I know

We can't buy anyone now until Jan - well we could but we can't name them in the 25 man squad.

We can sell someone in the 25 and replace them with an free/out of contract player though.

Technically we can replace a player who is named in the 25 man squad with a freebie if they are sold or loaned out ,if theres a player who has there contract cancelled before the transfer window say in Spain we could sign him
