Just passing on a warning for those who park on Leckwith Rd (B4267) on the hill - I couldn't make it to the game but my nipper did and parked his car, a silver Ford Fiesta ST-Line reg FM66 SBV where we have for years, on the hill. He parked it by about 10.30 and returned straight after final whistle to find it had been nicked. Absolutely gutted especially as there was something in it of great sentimental value inside. Obviously informed the police and now having to sort out insurance etc. These toerags must know there's a period of time when we are in the match so all we are saying is beware and if anyone has any info that may help please get in touch.

Had my car broken into in the old ninian car park many years ago.
Auto glas game with only a thousand or so in attendance.
Managed to get the radio but had a good crook lock in place so they left the car.
They had tried to remove the lock and broken the barrell.
Called out the breakdown vehicle as I could not remove the lock,
They had to chisel it off and it took ages, well worth fitting when parking in and around Ccs.
Theres a millenco at 59.99 in halfords.
Hope you get it sorted quickly , some real toerags around.

Correct there is. I have a fiesta st and it's something to do with them being keyless.

Sorry to hear about you’re car mate. That sounds like a real knight are and hope they can catch the people who have taken it. I would seem a bit extreme if the car has been clamped and towed away within 2-3 hours. Surely they would have put a sign on the car if clamped saying to call a certain number to pay for release. Even if it had been taken officially they would have to let you know ASAP I’d imagine. As long as it’s reported to the police and you can claim back on insurance that’s half the battle but it doesn’t get back whatever you’ve lost that was in the car. I’d thought there would be cameras in and around that area especially near the stadium and that roundabout, are they able to look at those after all its like we are just talking about something cheap that’s been stolen, it’s a serious crime.

Few of my friends cars have been stolen

i should imagine with the amount of cameras and anpr dotted around the city the police could easily track and find that car if they had the time, who knows they could be a major car ringing operation responsible for dozens of thefts ,that's why they get away with it single cars stolen are rarely investigated.

My guess would be that it was taken by visiting fans to get home. Probably turn up abandoned somewhere on Tyneside .
The police would have told you if it had been towed when you reported it if that had happened.

Also, I'd imagine there is anpr equipment recording all vehicles crossing the Severn Bridge so you might want to check that and depending how much fuel was in it check for drive outs on the route, ( just thinking , maybe Cardiff to Newcastle would involve that road from J24 on M4 to Birmingham ) that's a practical route so check the for drive outs too.
It'll turn up I expect . They obviously didn't smash it up or the police would have come to you as the registered keeper when it happened .

Don’t know what your talking about really do you mate

I’ve heard some really imaginative bullshit theory’s on this message board before but saying Newcastle fans stole a car during a match is the one that takes the cake

I think they may have nicked a car in Newcastle to drive down, left it by Asda and stole one to go home.
Or got the bus down and decided to drive back?
Happens all the time.

Yeah that's right, I've only got about 50 years of experience in this sort of thing, so I'm sure you're right. In fact cars stolen from outside or near football grounds during games usually end up being dumped somewhere near the away teams location, and are often intercepted on the way because if the theft is reported in time , forces along the route will watch out for them.
People take cars when they've run out of money in a strange place , often after a night on the piss and having lost tickets or missed their intended transport and , as you said professor, that could hardly apply to football fans, could it ?
Sorry if I tried to say something helpful to the bloke who lost his car. What's your suggestion , by the way ?

No it was probably stolen by criminal gangs who are targeting fiesta and focus ST's throughout the UK.

Possibly if it doesn't turn up, but most cars are taken and dumped rather than permanently stolen. Fords are easy to steal so that's why they go so often . I was thinking , it might turn up somewhere like Cadoxton because it could also be someone from there who was stuck, but the. I'd have expected them to be walking up Penarth Road rather than up Leckwith Hill.
One way or another I expect it's turned up by now if it's going to
