Loan watch

22/08/18

Cardiff City forward Mark Harris has made an impression on loan at Newport County, scoring two goals in his last two games for the club.

And the 19-year-old has told BBC Sport that he’d love to make a similar impression with his parent club when the returns to the Bluebirds in January.

“I’d love to go back and play in the Premier League with Cardiff,” said Harris.

“I’ve been there since I can remember, that’s been my aim and my dream since I’ve been about five.

“Hopefully one day I’ll be watching myself (on Match of the Day) with Cardiff in the Premier League.”

My next door neighbour is a big County fan and he says they are waxing lyrical over Harris' blistering start.

Watched him several times for the U23's and he has impressed me every time. Very confident on the ball and has composer in front of goal. He also takes a wicked penalty, his style is very reminiscent of Peter Whittingham's technique and he never seemed to miss a spot kick.

About time we came good with an Academy player, really hope we develop this boy and he gets a chance. Be nice to have a striker come through too.

Another of our players now out on loan....

MK Dons have signed Cardiff City striker Rhys Healey on loan until January.

The 23-year-old has previously had loan spells with Colchester United, Dundee, Newport and Torquay.

He could make his debut for Paul Tisdale's side against Exeter City - where Tisdale spent 12 years as boss - on Saturday.

"With his work-rate and ability, I think this is a nice fit," Tisdale told the club website.

"He is a player who is hungry to play and prove himself."

And Another....

ARGYLE have signed Stuart O'Keefe on loan from Cardiff City.

The 27-year-old midfielder spent much of last season on loan at Portsmouth, and could make his Pilgrims league debut against Pompey on Saturday, September 1.

Stuart will not be part of the squad for this weekend's fixture against Peterborough United, as Argyle are yet to receive international clearance for the player.

O'Keefe began his career as a youth player at Ipswich Town before moving to Southend United as a 16-year-old. He played a handful of games for the Shrimpers at senior level before being bought by Crystal Palace.

During his time as an Eagle, Stuart had a loan spell at Blackpool, before heading to Cardiff permanently. He has played 45 times for the Bluebirds, and had a short stint at MK Dons, before his time at Fratton Park last season.

Stuart's loan spell Home Park runs until January 5, 2019.
