Shooting

Mon Aug 20, 2018 10:52 am

Harry Arter and Camarasa were the only 2 players that decided to shoot outside the box on Saturday which was great to see. Players need to be encouraged to shoot more when the chance occurs rather than keep laying it off etc, as this all too often ends in losing possession and the chance gone. :banghead:

Anyone else have an opinion on this?

You've been listening to Vincent Tan too much :laughing6: You're right though.

If there is an opening - shoot but don’t shoot for the sake of it.

difficult one to generalise on , NML went for gold Saturday when maybe the better option was to pass.?

We had one attempt on target in both the Bournemouth & Newcastle games. That stat will not keep us in the Premiership. We need to test the keepercas often as possible because keepers do make mistakes (fumbles) whilst some shots may also be deflected.

We had a chance on Saturday to test the keeper from a free kick 25-28 yds out, what did we do just float an aimless ball into the box. I hope NW addresses the issue and gives the players the encouragement/confidence to shoot. Why else would they not shoot when they are in a good position?
