Cardiff City are pleased to announce the deadline day loan signing of Víctor Camarasa from Real Betis.

The twenty-four-year-old central midfielder, joins on a season-long loan for the 2018/19 campaign.

Camarasa came through Valencia’s academy, before joining Levante UD in 2012. He made his first team debut in December 2013.



He spent the 2016-17 season on loan at Alavés in the top flight, and then signed for Real Betis in June 2017.

Víctor made twenty-four La Liga appearances for Los Verdiblancos last season, as they secured a sixth-place finish in the Spanish top flight.

Camarasa has featured four times for Spain’s under-21 team, most recently in March 2017.

Victor Camarasa, is on a season-long loan.

The midfielder has three years left on his contract at Real Betis, and it is understood that there is no option to a permanent deal with Camarasa desperate to prove himself back in Spain after a year in the Premier League.

Hope he can gel well with the rest of team. Missed preseason and doesn't look like any of our players speak spanish. If he has the right mentality, think he'll do fine but i do fear it could be a repeat of our previous spanish players.

@davidjaca: Camarasa’s a good player that needs a refresh in his career. Was set for big things at Betis but circumstances changed. Been PL clubs following him since he ws at Levante due to his style. Smart move from Cardiff, though plenty are interested.

@davidjaca: Sort of player that can fit into various midfield roles, even that of a second striker. Despite his size, Camarasa is agile and has a decent bit of pace. Best as a roaming midfielder, akin to box-to-box, with a DM next to him.


@davidjaca: Because of his qualities, both technical and physical, Camarasa would be a good addition to the PL. Whoever gets him, it will be a coup, because he’s restarting his career really. Alavés loan a good example of his true ability, Betis simply hasn’t worked out.

Nothing wrong with our previous spanish player,it was a selection blunder that kept him out, went back to Spain and done really well.
