Worst Case Scenario

Tue Aug 07, 2018 12:34 pm

I have seen some negative posts on here. People frightened that we will finish bottom of the PL. People disappointed with our transfer business.

But you know what. Who cares where we finish?

For me this season is a bonus.

Worst Case Scenario - We finish bottom & go back into the Championship with quality players and, importantly, Debt Free

Best Case Scenario - We stay up, Debt Free and build even more.

Good post and lets hope we stay up but if not we will still be here and have air in our lungs.

Hope that didn't upset anyone

I agree 100% what a bonus it is to be here! I’d love to stay up don’t get me wrong but it’s all about building the club to be the best we can so if going down to come back again (like Burnley did) I’m all behind us even in the conference I’d still be a proud Cardiff fan

I care where we finish. If I didn't I wouldnt go to games.

If we don't finish bottom, we have improved on the last time we were here.
Small steps and enjoy the ride.

We all care were we finish and we all want 17th or above.

But I think this season is a little different in that we know we are up against it because we got promoted last season against the odds.

This season is the same if we stay up it's against the odds and will be another bonus. If we don't then I won't be crying and calling for the managers head because I know he has done a fantastic job already as we would return to the Championship with the club on a very stable financial footing.

We could finance a promotion push with the money we had in the bank rather than looking for handouts or loaning it as we have done in the past.

Warnock did an u believable job taking us up.
We'll see what the squad looks like Friday to see if warnock has spent the money he had wisely or not. No room for sentiment in football imo, everyone outside of Cardiff keeps saying warnock isn't a prem manager. I just wish he would prove them wrong.

Sorry I didnt mean to offend anyone. I know we have a wide range of supporters each of whom look for different things in their football club - and each of whom has different expectations.

So I accept my expectations dont match some and for that I apologise

The thing is. I started supporting the club in 1973. As a 4 year old. And through the years all I have ever witnessed was Promotion and relegation between divisions 2,3 and 4. And debt crisis after debt crisis.

I am not only a supporter I was also, for a number of years, one of the clubs photographers. Unfortunately I had to give that up as I now photograph Premier League football regularly and live in the NW.

I never expected to see my club playing in the Premier League but I got that chance a few years ago. A chance many supporters didnt live to see (including my dad). But that happy experience turned sour because of the events that took place that year.

Indeed this time last year many of us were predicting a relegation battle. I know myself I predicted a top 10 finish. I never thought we would be, once again, one of the countries elite 20. And to think. Even if the worst does happen. We will have a stronger squad than last season and be debt free.

Im excited because I truly believe our club (in a few years time) will be a top 10 club. We might have to put up with one relegation but even if that happens I really thing we are going places. We are running the club on the same lines as Burnley - which is a good act to follow - but we are a much bigger club than Burnley and if we remain well run and profitable who knows how high the Bluebird can fly.

agree,it is massively different and i dont understand how this is not the view of everyone....

Warnock now seems to already be the victim of his own success....you get posters whose first line is how great he is and then go on to be ultra critical of players he has signed, has picked...and his transfer targets / policy..

Bet365 were offering odds of 25/1 for us to win our first 3 games!

That's a bit stingy ;)

If we can’t get proven PL quality then I’m surprised we haven’t signed one or two more good championship performers whilst we can afford them and would be an attractive proposition. The likes of Woods for example, he may not be PL quality but then he may just surprise a few. But then if we are relegated he’s already in the ranks and we don’t have to strengthen too much in key areas to go again.

This to me is a very strange post and a very weird view.
We all have our stories and experiences of when we started watching. Of course I understand we got to the prem in an unexpected way, etc but to not care where we finish in the league is absolutely alien to me.
