My thoughts on the season

Tue Aug 07, 2018 10:02 am

There is a lot of unrest between our club and fans, I was saying to my Dad the excitement for the season ahead has fizzled and now we’re all worried about potential relegation, we’ve tried signing players that don’t want to join us however some forget we finished the season on 90+ points, I believe we will take a few scalps next season, we will lose a fair few, draw a fair few but in Warnock we trust, we have no other option but to be the 12th man, show the nation what we’re capable of, our team will run through brick walls for our gaffer, our fans will sing their hearts out which I believe could drive us on, we need to be deadly at set pieces, get bodies on the line willing to put a head or a foot in to try and score as many goals as possible, we’re Cardiff City, the greatest team in the world :bluescarf:

I for one can't wait for the season to start.
Full stadium , watching the City.
All I know is the squad of 25 , Warnock picks will give 100%.
May not be pretty , may not be classy, may even be dire.
But Cardiff City is our team , the least we can do is give our full support , in every game.
We will leave the negative comments, to the media and other teams like Fulham and Wolves, who for some reason are very bitter that we got promoted along side them.
There are going to be at least 3 sides, worse than us this season .
We can do this , because everyone's expectations are so low about us,we are going to surprise a few teams.

More a feeling of anti-climax than unrest.

Nobody on this board was seriously expecting us to chuck money around like confetti, a la Wolves or Fulham. However, as a minimum requirement, it was expected that we would fill the gaping holes in CM left by the departures of Grujic, Bryson and Halford.

Failure to have done so thus far has left most of us scratching our heads in bewilderment and maybe fearing the worst for the season ahead.

While it is far removed from the apathy experienced during Slade and Trollope's reign, it is understandable that for some the gloss has been taken off last season's achievement.

Of course all this could change in a heartbeat should NW pull a rabbit (or two) from the hat in the final days of this window.

not sure where all this fizzled out/ enthusiasm has dwindled stuff is coming from...or.and NOW we are all worried about relegation..?
the world, his brother ,most of our fans and our manager all thought promotion last season was totally against the odds.
and reality is its going to be one hell of an achievment to stay up and most fans contemplated straight relegation before even being promoted..who didnt think that in May..?..what exactly has changed..?
we are favs to go down, favs to finish bottom ,every pundit agrees with the bookies and thats been the situ from day 1 and would still be if NW had spent 20mill more on another 3 players.
the excitement, enthusiasm and hope come from a rare season for us at the top table with a possibility of once again proving the world wrong..

That is what it has come down to.

Things might change this week but the way it is looking we will be in a relegation fight and hoefully will be in it to the end. While we are we just might survive and that is going to be the exciting part.

I think some people need to get a grip to be honest. That's the truth of it.

This. If you were told we would be playing in the Premier League this time 12 months ago with a sustainable transfer policy, you would have snapped their arm off and some.

Some people need perspective :occasion5:

Current team equals relegation. No matter how much effort the team put in, simply not enough class. Goodluck to them tho. :bluescarf:
