Exactly, wages will be the stumbling block for us taking any 'name' player as a full-time signing, maybe we can afford a loan fee.

Even if we could have who we wanted we are not likely to sign anyone permanently for more that £10-15m, so we are stuck in the basement bargain or unearthing a gem, or getting a cheap French one in. Loans are probably our best hope of some improved talent.

There could be some last minute bargains, as players realise they may be stuck with a club where they may not get a game.

I'm hopeful with this one because Middlesbrough were able to sign him in the Premiership. Surely he wouldn't have been on 75k a week with Middlesbrough and surely Cardiff has more to offer than Middlesbrough? Negredo must have taken a massive wage cut to join Middlesbrough considering he was previously with Man City on what must have been a fantastic wage.

Negredo will definitely give us that extra bit of quality up front regarding finishing, ball control, link up play etc, so hopefully we can get it done. Saying that, we previously made bids for Luke Ayling, Ronaldo Vieira, Tolgan Arslan etc, so I will believe it when I see it!
