Aston Vanilla and Grealish

Mon Aug 06, 2018 7:57 pm

Just watching the muppets getting done by Hull on Sky ( I say that, it's one all right now)
Grealish still doing what he does best, falling over trying to get a free kick every time someone looks at him , screaming at team mates every time he buggers something up as if it's their fault and re arranging his freaky haircut.

Never understood why people apparently rated him so highly but maybe Tottenham and other clubs have noticed that he doesn't actually achieve much too, because I see that they haven't completed an deal.

Shhh, you'll awaken the Troll :(

Having said that, it's been quiet since it went off on one when it thought Steve Bruce was a gonner and effectively called him from his hole to his pole; only to see him carry on regardless!

A few extreme faux pas of late that confirm (not that we didn't already know) that it really isn't a Villa fan! ;)

Good win for Villa, to be fair though!

Remind me to wait till the end of the game before I say stuff like that again.
I still think Grealish is an annoying ponce though .
I'm not sure what it is about him specifically , but he's everything that's gone wrong with this country !

Another ref and another commentator put right by the Welsh armchair refs. :laughing6:

Well, refs and commentators are often wrong you know. If you watch the news or follow politics you might have noticed this - in fact it's somewhat becoming the trend.

I hesitate to go after Grealish much more than I have, bearing in mind that he's only a kid and I wouldn't wish failure on anyone. However, my point was that he's being acclaimed by these very commentators as "one of the most gifted players in the country " for no particularly valid reason other than their so called "expert opinions" and one or two glimpses of moderate talent here and there.
He hasn't actually DONE much to justify statements like the one you made, and I'd have thought a young player of the stature you want to accord him would be regularly finding holes in championship defences and staying on his feet a bit more when challenged. He might be getting tackled hard a lot, but great players meet that challenge and still do something with the ball instead of rolling round the floor and they control difficult passes rather than having tantrums with their team mates every time they fail to do so,( which he usually seems to ).

In short, my comment referred to the culture where failing by virtue of apparent victimhood is seen as equal to meeting all challenges head on and overcoming them with determination and strength of character.

If you believe in stats (Ssn) he played 27 games last season scored 3 goals with 5 assists 85% pass accuracy which means buggger all as can be a 2yd pass!! Very talented player but over hyped especially on sky as other night showed :old:

It's not just commentators though is it? It is almost everyone in the game who has encountered him. Even your own manager stated that he was the best player in the Championship last season. The Spurs manager certainly disagrees with your opinion. My point is, that they can't all be wrong and a bunch of thickos on a message board who couldn't trap a bag of cement between them be right. Besides - None of you commented on Grealish until we played you in 2016 and "bad loser Warnock" singled Grealish out to blame for his defeat. I was at that game and it was the worst I've seen a team foul one player since the 80s.

Grealish is rarely tackled hard (unless he's playing against Cardiff). You saw the game on Monday. Every foul was a foul and not once did he "go down too easily" which is a favourite claim of some idiots. Those are the type of fouls that are committed against him - Late tackles because he is so quick. You try having a set of studs across your ankle and see if you bounce back up straight away or stay down until the pain eases.

Grealish is anything but a victim. He gets up and dusts himself down in every game he plays. He always gets on with it and he is more than entitled to ask refs for protection.

"Clearly dived" according to a bunch of idiotic mongrels in the corner of the stadium. Didn't clearly dive according to the referee and 2 linesmen.

Grealish was targeted in that game by hatchet men and when it turned sour for them, they blamed Grealish for their inadequacies.

As for Peltier - Have a look at the video on YT - His second booking should have been a straight red.

I didn't think he dived. He went down easily and it was a free kick. but that's all it was. He feigned injury though. He went from rolling around in agony, banging the turf in pain only to spring to his feet in an instant. I hope for everyone's sake he stays with you. There's no doubt he enhances Villa but I don't see him in anyway good enough to get into a Chelsea or Spurs team. He may prove me wrong though.

Talking about him on ssn again! whilst cannot argue about his talent they're banging on about his goals and assists but in 27 games he scored 3 and had 5 assists that's not good by any standards, his value to villa is dead balls and getting free kicks. :old:

What you know about Grealish could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

The majority of free kicks that he wins leave us in a less favourable position than if he had not been fouled. How is that value? He's usually fouled because he's left the defender for dead.

Stop thinking you're some kind of expert in conspiracy theories. You know FA.

Seems like Villa are now refusing to sell Grealish having turned down Spurs bid.

Will he throw his toys out of his pram or will he buckle down and try to get Villa promoted?
