Our midfield - lee Tomlin

Hypothetical question:

If he had never played for us and we were to sign Lee Tomlin now at around £2mill would you think he would be a good signing as a missing piece of our midfield for this season ?

Going on his reputation and the fact he has premier league experiance.

Our options in midfield are limited depending on the formation Warnock chooses to go with. Yes we could do with a Full on defensive midfielder but We need a playmaker aswell, somebody who can put his foot on the ball and spray passes around and run the midfield because one injury to Reid or Ralls and we are knackered.

Reid isn’t a playmaker

Exactly but after watching a few of the pre season games Hes the one dropping deap to collect the ball in the attacking midfield role to move us forward. (Like a playmaker)

He's only played 6 premier league games at 29 he's decent but can't keep his fitness up may have an impact off the bench if we don't sign anyone else

last year i thought maybe Warnock could get him focussed /sort him out if you like....didnt happen.

as for prem experience it lasted about 3 months, 2 starts one of which he got subbed...not sure if he was just deemed not good enough or if Howe had problems with him...
his rep.?..he has a bit of ability yes but not enough to have low work rate and certainly not enough to be over weight in the top 2 divisions..
was yes last year...would be a no this year for me..

He got moved to striker because he’s no good as a midfielder.

Pretty much looks like no way back for Tomlin.
Something obviously went on, though we can all see his fitness was extremely poor last season.
Absolutely no chance of being in the 25.
I wonder if Pilks might end up staying though ?
