MY THOUGHTS: DON'T PANIC THERES STILL TIME

Sun Aug 05, 2018 10:59 am

This years Summer Transfer Window shuts earlier than expect and this means that a few clubs could be caught out BUT there are still time to sign players for some clubs. Here Are Players That Cardiff Have Not Looked At:

Strikers
Peter Crouch
Sam Vokes - Burnley
Leonardo Ulloa - Leicester
Hal Robson Kanu - West Brom
Okuzaki - Leicester

Midfielders
Jason Puncheon - Crystal Palace
Andy King - Leicester
Will Hughes - Watford
Darren Fletcher - Stoke
McTominay - Manchester United
Lazar Markovic - Liverpool
Demarai Gray - Leicester
Aaron Mooy - Huddersfield
Tom Davies - Everton

What Do YOU Think, Are Cardiff Going To Get A Few Midfielders Or Are They Doomed?

It's a very late looking window with several clubs having signed no-one or only couple players so should have a debate after window closes then we know what's what :old:

We need two solid defensive midfielders, you could switch Ralls or Patterson to link up with the forward, Hoilett and Murphy will cause problems so it’s not doom and gloom, Ralls could thrive in a higher roll as he has energy to chase and close down, and a bit of eye for goal when ball is up top.

Keeping jazz fit is vital another striker would be nice. But 2 midfielders is a must.

Not sure about any of those mate as I’m not going to speculate any more but I’d be surprised if we don’t see at least 2 signings this week and I also wouldn’t be surprised if Grujic came in.

If we cannot get a player from the PL on loan or abroad then we should possibly raid the championship again. It will be a shame if we miss out because we all know how unforgiving the premier league is, and also January is a long time away.

What Midfielders would you go for in the championship if we could get them?

Didn't Puncheon once accuse Warnock of liking a financial backhander on occasion?

I think the matter almost went to court so I think you can write that one off as a non-starter to begin with.

No current PL players are realistic options. None will come here for £30k/wk when they can get £60k/wk at mighty Huddersfield.

We need two midfield players who can hold on to the ball so we are not under constant pressure.
Our team is going to struggle every game unless we have more of the ball, in the Premier the teams have more class to punish us if we keep giving the ball to them.
We have 38 games to defend with low percentage of the ball going to be hard to stay up.

Transfer window has been open months reading between the lines neil seems as if he cannot find what fits he hints he will go with what he' s got so there we are then we are fans and cannot do anything about it , am i right in believing that in January we cannot loan any player only buy.

I think that statement is a bargaining chip. Ol Neil know what he needs, but he ain’t got the funds to get it. He might pull a rabbit out of the hat, but odds are he won’t.

I agree. Our players will be dead on their feet by 70 minutes if we cannot hold on to the ball in midfield and slow things down when required. Team spirit is great but you just need that extra bit of extra quality to at last give us a chance within our 'mini league.' I think we may yet hold onto Tomlin. I feel if we can just get even one extra quality midfielder and a goal scorer we'll be just about there.

Watching the Leeds v Stoke game

We should be having a look at leeds midfielder Samuel Saiz, he is bossing this game and was there stand out player last season. Hes a very clever player with a great passing range which is exactly what we need.

Would like tolgay arslan here myself,I have seen posts suggesting 12m price tag?? His current market value on transfer markt is 6.75m,he signed a four year contract recently tho!a cheeky 8m bid neil? Well worth it,plays cm but can play am or dm too!! Only 27 too,so could have a little profit if we get relegated (as some predict)and have to sell him.just my opinion of course.

Andrew, I still think Grujic may come in...the 'issue' is not with him directly! ;) :thumbright:

I get the feeling NW is looking for a little more transfer kitty.
Last week he was quoted as saying he needed to speak to MD and KC.
This week stating he will go with what he has got and wont fetch anyone in for the sake it.
Think if no more money is available we will take a few youngsters on loan and perhaps someone like luke freeman.
