The only position for him in this squad is Matt Connollys seat in the stand

Connolly would be 200 times better to have in the squad then Collins.

Can play in more positions
Won’t throw a strop like Collins does
Isn’t Ginger

If Bamba is going to be playing DM then I would have Ginge over Manga

Really ?

Bruno Manga is a quality defender
Technically he is the best defender at the club who is easily premier league class.
He was brilliant on the ball tonight, calm under pressure and very rarely makes a mistake.
Cant understand why anybody would want Collins over him.

Brilliant footballer, just don't find him as solid at the back as Ginge.

I honestly think Manga is going to get caught out and cost us a lot of goals

He’s not easily premier league class at all he’s never player there

Meanwhile players with significant premier league experience are available

So going by that logic Lionel Messi is not premier league class because he has not played in it ?

Just because players with a lot of experiance in the premier league are available it doesnt mean they are good enough any more.

Ive watched Manga since he signed and have always believed he is premier league quality at centre back. Warnock himself said that he would get into three quarters of premier league teams so he obviously agrees.

Yes he is.

He is much more suited to premier league football then any other of our defenders.

It will probably be him a Morrison playing most of the games this season.

I have no idea what your basing that off really.

There’s question marks over all our defenders - while they can all look fantastic they all have a calamitous moment in them too, I’m surprised we haven’t brought another one in

What a negative view of what was possibly the best defence in the championship last season. Don't most footballers have a calamitous moment in them somewhere?

And perhaps Llan Blue is basing his opinion of Manga on watching the guy. Watching him yesterday only confirmed my long held opinion that Manga is quality and may just handle the step up the Premiere League better than some.

Watching the guy in th championship....

Best defence in the championship....

Just reiterates my point really that we don’t know how the players we have will step up, its not negative at all, I’m not saying they’ll be crap I’m saying we just don’t know, and if there was an opportunity to bring in someone with premier league experience instead of Connolly then I would have taken that.

Manga and Morrison might well thrive, and I’ll be as happy as anyone

Funny you should mention calamitous moments in a thread that’s suggesting buying James Collins. He’s the f*cking king of calamitous moments

I’d go with Huth personally but Collins beats manga in premier league appearances by about 300

I remember the old Birmingham team that got promoted and bought dann and Johnson and they were so solid at the back that season - I’d love for us to mirror that and I hope we do. But I still would have taken the opportunity to bring someone in with that tried and tested experience at this level alongside the other three

Collins beats Messi in premier league appearances by about 300 as well.
