Tolgay ARSLAN

Sat Aug 04, 2018 9:38 am

A journalist with 5,400 followers on Twitter is reporting that we have bid 6.5m for Arslan.

A quality player that would be a great signing however I can’t see us getting him for 6.5m or anything close to that. 12m was quoted last time.

This may have some truth in it.

i was thinking of the Wales online mob but i assume you mean local to Arslan

i guess we will soon see if there's any truth in this, the one thing that has me thinking there might be is Warnock hasnt been afraid to discuss rumours that are either made up or enquiries that are now dead in the water (phillips) but there hasnt been a mention of this one.

We were linked to him about a month ago when the figure quoted was 12m, again the info coming from Turkey. Wouldn’t be surprised by an initial bid of 6.5m that would have been made but need to go higher if they want someone of his quality.

Does the amount of followers you have on Twitter affect your credibility in any way?

Is it the case that the more followers you have the more genuine your "tweets" are?

Really don't think we are looking at anybody on the continent at all let alone the mythical Arslan.

However, the fact is that we really have no idea what's going on.

Warnock confirmed we were talking to Alfred N'Diaye but he’s too expensive.

We’re in trouble I think. It doesn’t seem we can afford anyone.

Grow up. Just reporting something that is on Twitter. If you are not interested then just ignore the thread or don’t give it any credibility. Believe it or not sometimes journos get it right. Just because you are not interested some supporters may be.

I don't think we should be surprised though Norms. We knew months back that we had hardly any money to spend and we knew all about the huge debts that Tan has been slowly clearing. I know some posts on here stated our budget might be way more than that quoted, but we were never going to be spending vast sums of money, and both Tan and Warnock had made that clear a while ago. I think Warnock will be looking to get a couple of loan signings if possible, but like I said earlier in the week, not always easy to persuade the player you want to come to a S Wales club who are bookies favourites for relegation. Be even harder to get a real quality striker here with the sort of money Warnock has available. Still a bit of time left, and unlike the bookies, I certainly would'nt be writing us off just yet. :bluescarf:

Supposedly we have another 10m left.

If we don't I'm not sure we have spent what we have to wisely.

I hear you Steve, but if Tan and Warnock think we can stay up on a shoestring budget then they’re going to have a massive shock.

To stay in the PL you need at least £50/60m just to compete in the bottom half. Going off reports, we’ve spent about £30m

I think you are probably right Norms, but Warnock has defied the odds already by taking us from the Championship relegation spots to the PL. Hopefully he can defy the odds again, and become a name that will stay in the history books of this club forever. Common sense says we are not strong enough to stay in this league with our current squad, but I don't think many people thought we were good enough to get here in the first place. I am confident if we fail it won't be through lack of trying.

NW states in a Q & A session that we have spent 24m.

I am grown up unlike anybody who thinks that the amount of followers somebody has on social media means anything whatsoever.

Anyone can make up things and put them on facebook or Twitter yet some people seem to think they have some sort of credibility because they have a certain amount of followers.

We're all interested - that's why we're on here and we all enjoy the rumours but I cannot see what the amount of followers someone has on Twitter has any relevance to anything.
