Swansea Town Promotion push.

Fri Aug 03, 2018 2:35 pm

I think it can safely be accepted that the Jack's are not looking to bounce straight back.
Their transfer strategy ATM is strange to say the least.
So far this close season they've lost the services of a lot of players, such as :-
Fabianski,Mawson,Bartley,Rangel,
Mesa,Andre Ayew,Gorre,Sung-Yong Ki
Baston, Britton,Sanchez and possibly soon Clucas.
Their incomings transfers are:-
Celina,Asoro,McKay,Govea,Dhanda and Montero and Amat back off loan.
With a £30m+ on transfers so far, they won't be falling foul of the FFP police, but I definitely don't think they'll be gracing the Premier League in the immediate future.
Prediction on Jack's position come next May ?? I'm going to go with 13th.

Apparently 12 out 3 in! 2 of those in are wingers also got Montero so 3 wingers on books but got rid several over past 3 yrs , what's the obsession with wide men must be a Jenkins thing? But agree cannot possibly be looking to go strait up? Be interesting see how Harry potters magic works? :old:

i was talking to one of their ST holders Wednesday who had just put a 25 quid double on both us and them being relegated, he had heard..and seemed to be quite convinced that the intention is to play mostly last seasons under23 players for the entire season..
tbh i took it with a pinch of salt, but seeing the ins and outs maybe he was correct..?

Slowly going back into oblivion where they belong good! :ayatollah:

They will be in the promotion hunt, at least playoffs but I suspect top 2.

They will sign a few good players before the end of the window, the likes of Woods for a start.

If they get Bony fit they will make the playoffs.

They are getting rid of the overpaid crap and trying a fresh approach. Cant see them getting promoted though, the championship is a as strong as ever. Some good sides in there

Well last season bought several under 23 players and couple this window perhaps building from bottom up again?

Looks like serious relegation threat.

Totally agree they are in a right mess, closer to the bottom than the top !!!

33-1 with bet 365, I don't gamble but might have a fiver on that, imagine the delight at the end of the season if they go down and you win at 33 -1 :laughing6:

Even their trust don't think they will even finish in top 6! It's a long term project of 3yrs or more not exactly confidence building for fans. :old:

Why would you pin so much on a player who's 30 soon and is currently averaging 3 goals a season??

He will never again hit the form of 2013.

Bony's taken squad number 3.
Left back ??
Certainly left his shooting boots back in Manchester, although I think he actually lost them up there.
Even if he regains full fitness, his injuries will have taken their toll. Think he's on a rapid decline from now on in.

I don't think its a strange observation but a fair one to be honest Mozz

That is a cracking win for the Jacks today, Brammal Lane a hard place to go.

They should make the Play Offs, they have a decent Squad that should be able to make the top 6 and maybe even the top 2 if Potter gets them on a run and some of their big hitters come up trumps.

Far, far too early to predict anything in the Championship.

Squads still changing, players settling in.

After 70 minutes there were some on Twitter predicting disaster for them.

Just like with us, give it 10 games.

Irrespective it was a good result today for them

i know where your coming from rv casual but the fact that so may teams in that league should be in the top 2 is untrue

in the midlands for example the media darlings who drool over aston villa say the same !

swansea will have a good chance but another 10 teams will do too such a great league the championship

i,m tipping derby this season to reach the promised land

Not much else to sell but they reckon couple to come in! As for Montero he did this when 1st played for swans was brilliant but then faded never saw him again but brought back this season time will tell if he can hack championship, as for yesterday good result however you look at it. :old:
