' At the Cardiff City Stadium '

Fri Aug 03, 2018 7:57 am

Congratulations to TNS getting into the third and final pre-qualifying round before the group stage or the Europa league by beating the Gibraltar team Lincoln reds over two rounds.

They now take on the danish side FC Midtylland at the Cardiff city stadium Thursday August 9th.

Tickets will be sold from Cardiff City ticket office £5 each.

The game has been switched to the Cardiff City Stadium due to Europa ground regulations for this stage of the competition.
Be good to get down and support this Welsh club in their exploits to reach the group stages of the Europa league

Trouble is with t n.s they have milked the welsh league for years they are run as a buisness not a football club they are based in oswestry england you will see more st george flags around the ground rather than welsh, there football pitch is just the sport centre's it backs onto, they have been a professional club for years in an amateur league paying 3/4 times as much wages as there counterparts. So all this bollocks about good old tns welsh club all but in name only ask all the other teams in the welsh league i have travelled to most and most supporters feel the same about them so putting them on a pedestal is not needed they started from the top from day one. granted they played just inside the border at llansanffraid for a few seasons so they could qualify as a welsh club then switched back over the border. And before all the little englanders start having a rant i am just saying it as it is imo they are welsh in name only and none of the the welsh clubs in the league could compete unless they could find a buisness that was looking for a club to buy to big up there profile they where never a club building from grass roots.

Ridiculous I agree. They play against the likes of Cardiff Met whose players are all students and who play for free. In fact they actually pay to buy their own kit !

Have a read of the Cardiff fans moaning about foreign teams playing in another countries league.

Couldn't make it up.

I wonder if Cardiff, Swansea and Newport snap up all the average kids in the area at the expense of the Welsh League teams.

This thread didn't get past the OP before being taken off topic.

Well done TNS.

Not true . I know a lot of people there. I can tell you they do not get paid and they train twice a week through the regular season as I am there at some of the sessions All were students or graduates. You are talking baloney

  I know an English team milking the cash cow that is the Welsh Premier League was my favourite part

Can you imagine if a welsh club had the cheek to milk the riches of the English Premier League.

Good luck to T.N.S I hope a few City fans turn up to support them.

i was waiting for you to arrive as soon as englands mentioned tns have milked this league of millions welsh cup prize money they have qaulified for European cups every year for the last 20 years do you know how much money is involved just qualifying and been in europe nearly every year they have gone on runs they where playing at anfield not so long ago holding Liverpool if memory serve's me correctly, its completly run as a buisness.

Re: ' At the Cardiff City Stadium '

Fri Aug 03, 2018 12:17 pm

TNS made around £380,000 for winning their first champions league round last yearin addition to the prize money for winning the league so yes by Welsh premier standards it's big big bucks. They have plenty of money are bankrolled by some wealthy individuals and are a FT outfit so no real shock they do well. If they can beat the Danes in the next round and get to the Europa League stage they will make millions

 I don’t care about England

Your still missing the point completely.

Your complaining about an English team taking money out of the welsh leagues.

Whilst posting on a welsh football teams forum who are taking a lot more money out of the English Leagues.

1. Football Clubs are actually just a business, like it or not we are just "customers"
2. "milked the welsh leagues" - are you even for real?! What are CCFC doing in the EPL then???

Give it up T1JMO.

He's blind to the potential "kettle black" scenario here.

The border issue was secondary my main issue was a pro outfit in an amateur league and the unfair advantage they have over the other teams in the league they struggle to win any prize money because t.n.s. mop it all up

It’s not an amateur league isit.
They are not the first team to be fully professional in that league either.

Can't understand why they are not playing this game at Shrewsbury which Is only 20 miles from Oswestry or Wrexham which is about the same. Both would be more than adequate for the size of crowd they will get and both have hosted international matches so should meet any stadium rules requirements. Cardiff seems rather a long way to go.

There will be more stewards at the game than fans

The Racecourse is falling apart one of the stands is closed and cannot be used.

Newtown' s ground has hosted many european games not far away valetta copenhagen played there a few seasons ago there may be some issue with artificial pitches.

Was this the same Danish club that beat man utd a couple of seasons ago?

There' s only one copenhagen think newtown lost in the second leg after beating the capital of Malta valletta twice

its not an amateur league at all , if clubs can find the funding they can go pro..TNS are not the only team that have been pro either.

I suggest you do some research. Its a well known fact and one which has been well publicised in numerous articles hence the praise they have received. To my knowledge the only player paid was the keeper who was president of the students union which was a fee paying role as he attends functions and represents the union but he had to be voted in to that. Any money received was nothing to do with the football club. People shouldn't spout rubbish just because all of the other 11 teams pay their players. What they are doing up in Cyncord is nothing short of remarkable. I see even their new signings have enrolled on courses. One guy on loan from Bangor and another who played for Llantwit and attended Bridgend College who has gone to them. I would urge Cardiff fans to go and support them next Friday night for their first home game

i just said i find it strange . because if these boys are at a certain standard, which i asume they are, they could be earning decent money for playing football,,if that constitutes being rubbish eh oh...
what do you mean by any money recieved had nothing to do with the football club..?

I mean he was paid by the students union for a part time role almost like a union rep as he is their main man .Fact is he plays footie for free as do the others. He doesn't get paid to play. They have a strict policy on this. Its not difficult to understand
