HITC Sport

Wednesday 1st August 2018

Cardiff City and Middlesbrough are eyeing moves for former Wolves loanee Alfred N'Diaye, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

N'Diaye is back at Villarreal after spending last season on loan at Wolves where he helped them win promotion to the Premier League.

N’Diaye made 37 appearances for Wolves last season, scoring three goals and the club had the option to sign him on a permanent basis, but decided against it.

A number of clubs have been keeping tabs on N'Diaye's situation with the player still well down the pecking order at Villarreal.

The 28-year-old has spent the last 18 months away from Villarreal on loan at Hull and Wolves, and before joining Villarreal in the summer of 2016, N'Diaye had a spell on loan at Sunderland.

Cardiff boss Neil Warnock is looking to strengthen his midfield options before the close of the transfer window and he sees N'Diaye as a key addition to his plans as he has Premier League experience from his time at Hull and Sunderland.

As the window as only 8 days left, I think panic is setting in,and a lot of names are being banded about .
Hopefully NW and his management team are not panicking, and they have players lined up.
But if they haven't, I think we are going to have a long hard season ahead of us.
I'm looking forward to it ;)

Cardiff 'in for N'Diaye'

Media Wales

Wednesday 1st August 2018

Cardiff City and Middlesbrough are reportedly interested in midfielder Alfred N’Diaye.

N’Diaye is currently back with Spanish side Villarreal after spending last season on loan at Wolves.

We’re looking into this one, but it would certainly tick a few boxes...

Not panicking as since promoted names being banded around like confetti! Signings will come when they happen it's seemed to be the norm this transfer window for lot of teams :old:

We are hearing a lot of names,I think the media know where we are short, and are naming names .
Only Cunningham of our signings so far we had been linked with.
So hopefully a couple more surprises in the next week. :)

Hope he’s not panicking as the last time he did that he brought in Madine.

This is not a panic buy! This fella is a beast! Hope this is true!

Forget all the guessing. Only Warnock knows who he wants. The problem seems to be if the players he wants will want to come to Cardiff.Time will reveal all.

We will have back up options for midfield and upfront and right back.

If right, will do a job, think fee will be the key here, think he will add to what we have, will do a job

Too right. Feckin huge fella he is. Would add a massive physical presence to midfield. He’s no slouch, played 30 odd times for Wolves last season. Might be just speculation though , who knows, we’ve been linked with everyone else bar messi

I think this one might have a bit of substance to it.
Definitely seems a NW type.(MAHASSIVE)
Has a bit of Premier League experience.
Would be a decent loan signing with a view to a permanent, if we stay up. Contracted to Villarreal until July 2021.
Wolves had option to make permanent signing, but declined.
Played over thirty games for them last season though.
Really hope this one comes off. Can also play CB, so that's a bonus.

Just seen Jack Grealish is available for 20 million on sky sports, worth a try?

Re: “ Cardiff eye Villarreal midfielder “

Just did a bit of research on possible cost. Wolves had option to buy for about £8m.
Average wage at Villarreal is approx. £25k per week.
IMO, to sign him for these type of figures would be a no brainer.
Desperate for a DMF to just sit in and allow Hoilett,Murphy,Ralls and Reid to break forward.
Even as cover for Gunnarsson, he'd still represent good value.

Jack grealish are you having a laugh he's on his knees for 80 mins waving his hands at the ref and crying, he does'nt fit into the warnock mold thank f..k

Re: “ Cardiff eye Villarreal midfielder “

Three things spring to mind:
1. we need a player in the DM mold
2. The lad won promotion to the Prem and has some experience there.
3. Warnock flew off somewhere last week, could Spain have been the destination?
If Grujic, his agent and LFC are not prepared to send him to us then I say move on and bring in this type of player

The other upside to a loan deal for him would be that because he's from Villarreal, we'd still be allowed two further loans from Premier league teams, or that's how I've read the rules.
Only allowed two loan signings from EPL or EFL, but foreign loan signings don't count towards it.
Good age, monster presence, current International, previous Premier League experience, versatile.
Ticks EVERY box for me.

Yep those are the rules.

Apart from it’s only 2 from the EPL the EFL doesn’t count towards it either

He certainly tick the boxes in my previous post

Apparently he's a Defensive Mid fielder (Not a play maker) whos done well at previous Championship teams but has some Premiership experience.
I know it doesn't narrow it down much

Wrong only two loans from any club in the uk are allowed

Really hope the club can make progress this week on some cover for midfield.
It now does seem to be getting late in the day, which is most unlike the way NW signs his players.
Leaving it until deadline day is just too risky and so many things could stop it happening then.

It reads Loans from a different National Association does not count.....so does Scotland not Count as they have their own SFA

Got to agree with this - after the early flurry of signings City are slap bang in a sellers market now.

Anyone else concerned there is no talk of a right back? Surely City cannot be comfortable with having Peltier or Richards and shock horror Manga there?

I'm very surprised. I still think he will get one.
