I've just read on SSN that he's currently using Everton facilities to keep fit since leaving Sunderland.
I know the bloke has hardly kicked a ball for 2 or 3 years but would you take a punt?
I used to rate him highly but for whatever reason he didn't play at Sunderland.
He's no longer in contract so the high wages is no longer an issue.
If we could get him on relatively low wages would you be happy if we signed him on a one year deal?
I think Warnock could possibly sort him out and he surely has something to prove?
thoughts...

If we could get him on a 1/3 of his wages at Sunderland, approx £100k supposedly. It would be a massive risk but one worth taking, he’s still got youth on his side too. If he actually wants to get his career back on track. Could be an expensive failure though, and by all accounts it seems like it’s all about money with him.

Spot on. Was happy to pick up his considerable pay cheque and do sweet FA.
Massively injury prone as well.

He was on trial at Watford a few weeks back.
They didn't want him.

Definitely not what we need.
Injury prone big time Charlie

Certainly the type of player we need at his best. Problem is he hasn't played for long time. Not sure about his attitude although I don't blame him for collecting his wage at sunderland, they have him the contract not his fault they tried to force him out.

nah, i wouldn't sign him. he showed potential 5-6 years back, but since that he's had season after season of mediocrity. my guess is that he'll be another player who the same thread could easily pop up in 1-2 years time after more mediocrity.

Pay as you play deal. Best for both parties

I’m pretty sure that’s not going to be the best for Jack Rodwell

100% no. Is he better than what we have now?
67 games in 4 seasons doesn’t instill confidence. May have picked up injuries but is he hungry enough to fight for his place and the shirt?

He went on strike while at Sunderland. Don't want this type of bloke at our club.

I didn't know he went on strike. I always thought Sunderland froze him out in attempt to not pay him the contract they gave him.

He's got no contract at the moment!! He needs to repair his reputation and remind people he is a good footballer.

He will get a contract.
His reputation will earn him one.

And me won’t be in the premier league.
A player that sat about collecting money for a year doing nothing won’t be fussy about where he’s playing though
