Just an observation not a criticism but i thought neil likes to get his signings done early which he did to start with so the team can gel together,or is this a case of suddenly realising what he had was'nt to going be good enough after the friendlies, hence the late dip back into the transfer market just seems a bit odd the way he likes to get things in place early, but happy he is doing so.

more a case of agents delaying deals as they try desperately to squeeze every Penny out of clubs so their cut is bigger.

Not for the want of trying.

he was talking last week about offers and interest we have had for some of our players..
yet noboby has left , he sort of put it down to clubs not wanting to pay the extra 3 weeks wages but no doubt there are other reasons for moves not happening quickly
as well...id imagine finance is one . and players involved in chain move where a manager would be happy to allow a player to move providing a deal to get another replacement player itself goes through..
so we are not alone its the same with most clubs..a good example is Grujic..so much said on here and the press about our interest...but one thats gone on just as long is Tomlin to Forest..

I'm pretty sure Warnock would have known for some time exactly what he needs for the coming season and I have no doubt he has been trying as hard as he possibly can to bring in the right players.
However, he's now competing with much bigger clubs with far more financial muscle and agents who are looking to maximise the earnings of both their clients and themselves, encouraging their clients to keep their options (of which there may be many) open for as long as possible.
It must also be difficult to attract players to a club that is geographically a bit out of the way, who have a wage structure which they intend to stick to and who are everyone's favourites for relegation this season.
I'm sure that he and everyone else at the club have been doing everything that they can since the moment we won promotion to get the team ready for the forthcoming season within the budget available.

Warnock does have previous on leaving things very late,if my memory serves me correctly wasn't Madine a last minute signing? mind you we know how that turned out, look to be fair to Warnock the signings he has made so far have been more than decent, but has he waited to long for Grudic to make up his mind to join us or not

I agree with everything except your comment about us being geographically out of the way a bit. Fair enough if we were Plymouth, Carlisle or even possibly the Jacks but being only 2 hours from London and a lot less to the midlands, I doubt very much if this is a factor in attracting players.
Plus of course, the profile of the city has never been higher and it is now considered to be one of the nicest cities in the UK.

Probably expected to see a few leave and a few million more available to the budget.
Not helping us that our transfer windows closes on August 9th yet the players we can move on have until August 31st.
Quite a dilemma if we have to name our 25 on the 9th.

Its same for a lot of clubs all due to world cup apparently? But plenty time left for any deals to materialise before ko.

Same at every club. Be easier if we had a much bigger budget but it's not out of choice he's said that himself.

Why is it a dilemma?
