Solomon RONDON

Talks with Newcastle have broken down. Would like City to make a real effort to sign him up. Bags of Premier League experience and doesn’t stop running. 16.5m release clause.

If we are looking at Troy Deeney at 15m a better option?

Completly agree with you since we where promoted i have wanted rondon same player as deeney but a step quicker and a real worker and proven in the prem. "If only i was a millionaire"

He is a much better option than Deeney, in my opinion. More mobile, quicker and still has something to prove.

However, if talks have broken down between him/his agent and Newcastle it probably reflects we are unlikely to be successful assuming the talks breakdown was wage related.

We need a goalscorer and I feel Deeney will get more goals, just as much PL experience

The deal broke down over Dwight Gayle going on loan to West brom. West brom don't want to commit to his wages or to buy at end of loan

Not one of the players in this thread really interest me. None of them are massively better than what we’ve got, and considering the amount any would cost not really worth it. I don’t really think we were ever in for Deeney especially with the amount quoted, and therefore hat puts Rondon out of budget to. And people tend to forget he’s on over £50,000 a week, which isn’t in keeping with our wage structure. I trust Warnock will get who he think fits in best with our team ethics and tactics. Whoever we sign the doom and gloom merchants will be out in full force!!!

Id be happy with Rondon however a loan of Niasse would be referred even better when we don't need to keep him the following season should the worse happen.

wish we would sign someone, starting to get a bit worried now, rondon or deeney would do me :bluescarf:

It seems if we sign anyone of this caliber and fee most people say we cannot afford to pay his weekly wage its going to cause trouble in the dressing room then if we go to the other end £500,000 for Peter crouch we cannot afford his weekly wage either i think we might as well not sign anyone i am beginning to get frustrated to i just want us to be sorted and ready. Just heard that Bournemouth looking to spend £27mill on 1 player.

You kidding me Deany or Rondon arnt better than madine or ward?

Theyre prob both better than zohore Tbh, he's still just potential, he's only ever had half a good season in the championship.

Always thought Rondom couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo. 24 goals in 3 seasons, never once reached double figures. Hardly a prolific goal scorer.

Yes Paul, he would be my first choice out of the names being banded around.

We won’t be able to sign a prolific premier league goal scorer do you know how much they cost.

Indeed I do but I wouldn't waste money on Rondon a non prolific goal scorer...

For the extra 1.5M I would go with Rondon every time over Deeney. Could be the difference between staying up and going down.
